Zusammenfassung: | "This Element introduces the notion of curatorial composing to account for certain musical practices that emerged from the 1960s as the founding concepts of music as an art - instituted in the modern era - were systematically dismantled. It raises the key question of how musical value and authority might be produced without recourse to an external principle, origin, transcendental framework, or other foundation. It argues that these practices do not dismiss the issue of value or simply relativise it but shift the paradigm to a curatorial concern for composing public encounters and staging events. The Element shows that Lydia Goehr's elaboration of the work-concept provides a framework that was transformed by John Cage in his work from 0'00" (1962) onwards. The Element then introduces Heiner Goebbels' practice and focus on his role as Artistic Director of the Ruhrtriennale (2012-14), which it argues was an extension of his curatorial composing"-- |

Musical Elements -- 2. The Work-Concept And Its Limits -- 3. Variable Time: Cage After Schoenberg -- 4. Heiner Goebbels: Questioning Authority -- 5. Spaces of Appearance -- 6. After Words -- References "This Element introduces the notion of curatorial composing to account for certain musical practices that emerged from the 1960s as the founding concepts of music as an art - instituted in the modern era - were systematically dismantled. The Element then introduces Heiner Goebbels' practice and focus on his role as Artistic Director of the Ruhrtriennale (2012-14), which it argues was an extension of his curatorial composing"-- Goebbels, Heiner 1952- (DE-588)122659589 gnd rswk-swf Ruhrtriennale (DE-588)5555595-0 gnd rswk-swf Geschichte 2012-2014 gnd rswk-swf Geschichte 1945- gnd rswk-swf Autorschaft (DE-588)4130545-0 gnd rswk-swf Aufführung (DE-588)4143388-9 gnd rswk-swf Werk (DE-588)4117633-9 gnd rswk-swf Performance Künste (DE-588)4173750-7 gnd rswk-swf Bühnenwerk (DE-588)4461958-3 gnd rswk-swf Komposition (DE-588)4032012-1 gnd rswk-swf Ästhetik (DE-588)4000626-8 gnd rswk-swf Musik (DE-588)4040802-4 gnd rswk-swf Komposition Musik (DE-588)4133320-2 gnd rswk-swf Music in museums Music / Philosophy and aesthetics Performance art / Germany Performing arts / Philosophy Creation (Literary, artistic, etc.) Art and music Sound art / History and criticism Sound installations (Art) Ruhrtriennale / (2012-2014) Ruhrtriennale Performance art Sound art Germany Criticism, interpretation, etc Musik (DE-588)4040802-4 s Komposition (DE-588)4032012-1 s Werk (DE-588)4117633-9 s Ästhetik (DE-588)4000626-8 s Geschichte 1945- z DE-604 Goebbels, Heiner 1952- (DE-588)122659589 p Komposition Musik (DE-588)4133320-2 s Bühnenwerk (DE-588)4461958-3 s Autorschaft (DE-588)4130545-0 s Aufführung (DE-588)4143388-9 s Performance Künste (DE-588)4173750-7 s Ruhrtriennale (DE-588)5555595-0 f Geschichte 2012-2014 z Erscheint auch als Online-Ausgabe 9781009337618 Digitalisierung BSB München - ADAM Catalogue Enrichment application/pdf http://bvbr.bib-bvb.de:8991/F?func=service&doc_library=BVB01&local_base=BVB01&doc_number=034290722&sequence=000001&line_number=0001&func_code=DB_RECORDS&service_type=MEDIA Inhaltsverzeichnis |
