The recent economic history of Poland is a model example of how transformation, liberalization of the economy and regional integration processes (joining the EU common market) affect the structure and trade turnover. The complexity of available data is a factor which may particularly discourage deepened studies of international trade concerning gross or value added. Therefore, the atlas contains a series of maps that illustrate the evolution of phenomena related to foreign exchange.
