The varying editorial choices over time required that small amendments be made to ensure consistency in this new volume in terms of typography, spelling and punctuation. In addition, syntactic corrections are indicated in square brackets and notes have occasionally been added to contextualise the argument. The reproduction of illustrations accompanying the original texts was unfeasible, due to poor image quality and, sometimes, relevance. Where possible, the original images have been replaced in an effort to contextualise the argument for the modern-day reader.
