Zusammenfassung: | All countries in the world understand that education is vital to human and economic prosperity and that teacher education unavoidably is implicated. But the snag is this: political forces shaping public opinion in individual nations (particularly the U.S.) are deeply divided concerning how teacher education should proceed. This book acknowledges this Achilles heel tension, but does not become weighed down by it. Instead, it focuses on 'the practical' (Schwab, 1969), matters that have been locally deliberated and enacted. Pedagogies are named, origins (cultural/practical/theoretical/policy roots) are traced and a live example of the pedagogy unfurling in the local setting is presented from an insiderview. |

This book acknowledges this Achilles heel tension, but does not become weighed down by it. Instead, it focuses on 'the practical' (Schwab, 1969), matters that have been locally deliberated and enacted. Pedagogies are named, origins (cultural/practical/theoretical/policy roots) are traced and a live example of the pedagogy unfurling in the local setting is presented from an insiderview.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="0"><subfield code="a">Teachers</subfield><subfield code="x">Training of.</subfield><subfield code="0">http://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/sh85132999</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="0"><subfield code="a">Education</subfield><subfield code="x">Study and teaching.</subfield><subfield code="0">http://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/sh85041021</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="6"><subfield code="a">Enseignants</subfield><subfield code="x">Formation.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Teaching skills & techniques.</subfield><subfield code="2">bicssc</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">EDUCATION</subfield><subfield code="x">Essays.</subfield><subfield code="2">bisacsh</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">EDUCATION</subfield><subfield code="x">Organizations & Institutions.</subfield><subfield code="2">bisacsh</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">EDUCATION</subfield><subfield code="x">Reference.</subfield><subfield code="2">bisacsh</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Education</subfield><subfield code="x">Study and teaching</subfield><subfield code="2">fast</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Teachers</subfield><subfield code="x">Training of</subfield><subfield code="2">fast</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="700" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Orland-Barak, Lily,</subfield><subfield code="e">editor.</subfield><subfield code="1">https://id.oclc.org/worldcat/entity/E39PCjKh9rfrgbhMc7pYHYYpj3</subfield><subfield code="0">http://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/no2010051182</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="700" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Craig, Cheryl J.,</subfield><subfield code="e">editor.</subfield><subfield code="1">https://id.oclc.org/worldcat/entity/E39PCjvQrbc3jbDKDxx4J8Kt83</subfield><subfield code="0">http://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/n2003096788</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="776" ind1="0" ind2="8"><subfield code="i">Print version:</subfield><subfield code="t">International teacher education (Part B).</subfield><subfield code="b">First edition</subfield><subfield code="z">178441669X</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="830" ind1=" " ind2="0"><subfield code="a">Advances in research on teaching ;</subfield><subfield code="v">v. 25.</subfield><subfield code="0">http://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/no97022005</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="856" ind1="4" ind2="0"><subfield code="l">FWS01</subfield><subfield code="p">ZDB-4-EDU</subfield><subfield code="q">FWS_PDA_EDU</subfield><subfield code="u">https://search.ebscohost.com/login.aspx?direct=true&scope=site&db=nlebk&AN=1061727</subfield><subfield code="3">Volltext</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="938" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Askews and Holts Library Services</subfield><subfield code="b">ASKH</subfield><subfield code="n">AH28118290</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="938" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">ProQuest Ebook Central</subfield><subfield code="b">EBLB</subfield><subfield code="n">EBL4339857</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="938" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">EBSCOhost</subfield><subfield code="b">EBSC</subfield><subfield code="n">1061727</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="938" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">ProQuest MyiLibrary Digital eBook Collection</subfield><subfield code="b">IDEB</subfield><subfield code="n">cis30382111</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="938" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Internet Archive</subfield><subfield code="b">INAR</subfield><subfield code="n">isbn_9781784416706_22</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="994" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">92</subfield><subfield code="b">GEBAY</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="912" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">ZDB-4-EDU</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="049" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">DE-863</subfield></datafield></record></collection> |

Craig. All countries in the world understand that education is vital to human and economic prosperity and that teacher education unavoidably is implicated.
