Zusammenfassung: | This volume will focus on innovative research that examines how the nature of paid work intersects with family and personal life today. Although some workers have more stability than others, rising income inequality, the continued rise of nonstandard work, further erosion of unions, technological advancements that encourage permeable boundaries between work and home, and the pressures of a global 24/7 economy generate an aura of insecurity for all. Some workers are working long hours but have some control over when, where and how they work; many others are poorly compensated and struggle with underemployment, have little say over their schedules, lack adequate benefits, and must cobble together several jobs and/or rely heavily on kinship networks to make ends meet. These changes suggest the need for nuanced analyses that are sensitive to class variation in work conditions and to diverse family formations. Research that addresses how current work conditions are experienced in different life course stages and in different policy contexts is also needed to fully understand the work-family interface. |

Research that addresses how current work conditions are experienced in different life course stages and in different policy contexts is also needed to fully understand the work-family interface.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="504" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Includes bibliographical references at the end of each chapters.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="588" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Description based on online resource; title from PDF title page (ebrary, viewed March 10, 2015).</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="0"><subfield code="a">Work and family.</subfield><subfield code="0">http://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/sh85148139</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="6"><subfield code="a">Travail et familles.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Sociology: family & relationships.</subfield><subfield code="2">bicssc</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Sociology: work & labour.</subfield><subfield code="2">bicssc</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">POLITICAL SCIENCE</subfield><subfield code="x">Public Policy</subfield><subfield code="x">Cultural Policy.</subfield><subfield code="2">bisacsh</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">SOCIAL SCIENCE</subfield><subfield code="x">Anthropology</subfield><subfield code="x">Cultural.</subfield><subfield code="2">bisacsh</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">SOCIAL SCIENCE</subfield><subfield code="x">Popular Culture.</subfield><subfield code="2">bisacsh</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Work and family</subfield><subfield code="2">fast</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="700" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Ammons, Samantha K.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="700" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Kelly, Erin L.</subfield><subfield code="q">(Erin Lee),</subfield><subfield code="d">1970-</subfield><subfield code="1">https://id.oclc.org/worldcat/entity/E39PCjD8pWgTXqKPg7bqfDJx6q</subfield><subfield code="0">http://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/no00052308</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="776" ind1="0" ind2="8"><subfield code="i">Print version:</subfield><subfield code="a">Ammons, Samantha K.</subfield><subfield code="t">Work and Family in the New Economy.</subfield><subfield code="d">Bradford : Emerald Group Publishing Limited, ©2015</subfield><subfield code="z">9781784416300</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="830" ind1=" " ind2="0"><subfield code="a">Research in the sociology of work ;</subfield><subfield code="v">v. 26.</subfield><subfield code="0">http://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/no98102578</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="856" ind1="4" ind2="0"><subfield code="l">FWS01</subfield><subfield code="p">ZDB-4-EBU</subfield><subfield code="q">FWS_PDA_EBU</subfield><subfield code="u">https://search.ebscohost.com/login.aspx?direct=true&scope=site&db=nlebk&AN=960360</subfield><subfield code="3">Volltext</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="936" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">BATCHLOAD</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="938" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Askews and Holts Library Services</subfield><subfield code="b">ASKH</subfield><subfield code="n">AH27186596</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="938" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Coutts Information Services</subfield><subfield code="b">COUT</subfield><subfield code="n">31068948</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="938" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">EBL - Ebook Library</subfield><subfield code="b">EBLB</subfield><subfield code="n">EBL1977096</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="938" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">ebrary</subfield><subfield code="b">EBRY</subfield><subfield code="n">ebr11025713</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="938" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">EBSCOhost</subfield><subfield code="b">EBSC</subfield><subfield code="n">960360</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="938" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Gale Cengage Learning</subfield><subfield code="b">GVRL</subfield><subfield code="n">GVRL13XL</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="938" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">ProQuest MyiLibrary Digital eBook Collection</subfield><subfield code="b">IDEB</subfield><subfield code="n">cis31068948</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="938" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">YBP Library Services</subfield><subfield code="b">YANK</subfield><subfield code="n">12148104</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="994" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">92</subfield><subfield code="b">GEBAY</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="912" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">ZDB-4-EBU</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="049" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">DE-863</subfield></datafield></record></collection> |

This volume will focus on innovative research that examines how the nature of paid work intersects with family and personal life today.
