Zusammenfassung:The book aims at publishing scientific achievements in the field of logistics as well as at enhancing the worldwide cooperation among young and senior academicians and/or practitioners, and specially those of the central European region. Some of the main topics included in the book are those related to manufacturing process design, optimization and control, manufacturing automation, manufacturing process simulations, analysis of the material flow, maintenance, production planning, production scheduling, new teaching and research approaches, intelligent manufacturing systems and cells, robot implementation into the logistic processes. The session on technology is represented by 25 papers, 19 on logistics, andsix on information technology. The topics include the effect of shapeparameters on the model properties of stepped ultrasonic concentrators, theimportance of modernizing the forging line for material flow in a dropforge, an agent-based framework for supply chain cooperation, applyingselected lean methods for waste-removal logistics at Slovak industrialplants, and virtual reality modeling language as a tool for simulatingautomated workplaces.
