Zusammenfassung: | This volume challenges understandings of organizational misbehavior by looking beyond traditional conceptions of the nexus between misbehavior and resistance in the workplace. Reconsidering misbehavior from a range of different perspectives and disciplinary traditions, including history, employment relations, sociology, management, entrepreneurship, marketing, legal studies and film studies, chapters examine behaviors not only of workers but also of managers, entrepreneurs and consumers. The book begins with an overview by one of the leading scholars of misbehavior, Stephen Ackroyd, who reviews the study of the phenomenon, followed by conceptual reconsideration of the relationship between misbehavior and resistance in a changing industrial landscape. The remainder of the book traverses dimensions of misbehavior and resistance across time and geographical space through a number of case studies that examine behaviors in a range of different places, industries and sectors. In this way it extends analysis to actors outside of the workers who have largely been the focus of existing studies. The volume will add to the emerging body of evidence that disturbs assumptions of consensus and conformity in organizations. |

The volume will add to the emerging body of evidence that disturbs assumptions of consensus and conformity in organizations.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="504" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">REFERENCESNAMING, CONDONING, AND SHAMING: INTERPRETING EMPLOYEE ASSESSMENTS OF BEHAVIOR AND MISBEHAVIOR IN THE WORKPLACE; INTRODUCTION; HUMOR, IDENTITY, SELF-ORGANIZATION, AND CO-PRODUCTION; NICKNAMING, HUMOR, AND THE WORKPLACE; SENSEMAKING, LANGUAGE-MAKING, AND (MIS) BEHAVIOR; WORK-RELATED NICKNAMING IN HISTORICAL CONTEXT; ASSESSING BEHAVIOR AND PERFORMANCE; CONCLUSION; NOTE; REFERENCES; MR TAYLOR GOES TO HOLLYWOOD: MISBEHAVIOR IN FILM AND TV; INTRODUCTION; RATIONALITY, FILM, AND TV; FROM THE UNDERGROUND: THE IDEAL WORKER AND ALTERNATIVES; MISBEHAVIOR, MELODRAMA, AND NO ALTERNATIVE.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="0"><subfield code="a">Personnel management.</subfield><subfield code="0">http://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/sh85100143</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="0"><subfield code="a">Organizational behavior.</subfield><subfield code="0">http://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/sh85095524</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="2"><subfield code="a">Personnel Management</subfield><subfield code="0">https://id.nlm.nih.gov/mesh/D010559</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="6"><subfield code="a">Personnel</subfield><subfield code="x">Direction.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="6"><subfield code="a">Comportement organisationnel.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Personnel & human resources management.</subfield><subfield code="2">bicssc</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Business & Economics</subfield><subfield code="x">Human Resources & Personnel Management.</subfield><subfield code="2">bisacsh</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">BUSINESS & ECONOMICS</subfield><subfield code="x">Workplace Culture.</subfield><subfield code="2">bisacsh</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Gestion d'entreprises.</subfield><subfield code="2">eclas</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Organizational behavior</subfield><subfield code="2">fast</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Personnel management</subfield><subfield code="2">fast</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="700" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Barnes, Alison.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="700" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Taksa, Lucy.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="776" ind1="0" ind2="8"><subfield code="i">Print version:</subfield><subfield code="z">9781780526621</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="830" ind1=" " ind2="0"><subfield code="a">Advances in industrial and labor relations ;</subfield><subfield code="v">v. 19.</subfield><subfield code="0">http://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/n00103339</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="856" ind1="4" ind2="0"><subfield code="l">FWS01</subfield><subfield code="p">ZDB-4-EBU</subfield><subfield code="q">FWS_PDA_EBU</subfield><subfield code="u">https://search.ebscohost.com/login.aspx?direct=true&scope=site&db=nlebk&AN=526505</subfield><subfield code="3">Volltext</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="938" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Askews and Holts Library Services</subfield><subfield code="b">ASKH</subfield><subfield code="n">AH21788197</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="938" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Coutts Information Services</subfield><subfield code="b">COUT</subfield><subfield code="n">24416445</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="938" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">EBL - Ebook Library</subfield><subfield code="b">EBLB</subfield><subfield code="n">EBL1105034</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="938" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">ebrary</subfield><subfield code="b">EBRY</subfield><subfield code="n">ebr10635387</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="938" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">EBSCOhost</subfield><subfield code="b">EBSC</subfield><subfield code="n">526505</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="938" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">ProQuest MyiLibrary Digital eBook Collection</subfield><subfield code="b">IDEB</subfield><subfield code="n">cis24416445</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="938" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">YBP Library Services</subfield><subfield code="b">YANK</subfield><subfield code="n">9951495</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="994" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">92</subfield><subfield code="b">GEBAY</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="912" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">ZDB-4-EBU</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="049" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">DE-863</subfield></datafield></record></collection> |

This volume challenges understandings of organizational misbehavior by looking beyond traditional conceptions of the nexus between misbehavior and resistance in the workplace.
