Zusammenfassung: | New Research in Information Behavior, co-edited by Professor Amanda Spink and Dr. Jannica Heinström provides an understanding of the new directions, leading edge theories and models in information behavior. Information behavior is conceptualized as complex human information related processes that are embedded within an individuals everyday social and life processes. The book presents chapters by a range of scholars who show new research directions that often challenge the established views and paradigms of information behavior studies. Beginning with an evolutionary framework, the book builds our understanding of information behaviors over various epochs of human existence from the Palaeolithic Era and within pre-literate societies, to contemporary behaviors by 21st century humans. Drawing upon social and psychological science theories the book presents a more integrated and holistic approach understanding of information behaviours. This book is directly relevant to information scientists, information professionals and librarians, social and evolutionary psychologists, social scientists and people interested in understanding more about their own information behaviors. |

This book is directly relevant to information scientists, information professionals and librarians, social and evolutionary psychologists, social scientists and people interested in understanding more about their own information behaviors.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="0"><subfield code="a">Information behavior.</subfield><subfield code="0">http://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/sh2005002646</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="6"><subfield code="a">Comportement dans la recherche de l'information.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Information theory.</subfield><subfield code="2">bicssc</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Communication studies.</subfield><subfield code="2">bicssc</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Language Arts & Disciplines</subfield><subfield code="x">Library & Information Science</subfield><subfield code="x">General.</subfield><subfield code="2">bisacsh</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Language Arts & Disciplines</subfield><subfield code="x">Library & Information Science</subfield><subfield code="x">School Media*.</subfield><subfield code="2">bisacsh</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Business & Economics</subfield><subfield code="x">Information Management.</subfield><subfield code="2">bisacsh</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Gestion d'entreprises.</subfield><subfield code="2">eclas</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Information behavior</subfield><subfield code="2">fast</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="655" ind1=" " ind2="4"><subfield code="a">Electronic book.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="700" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Spink, Amanda.</subfield><subfield code="0">http://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/n2004035798</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="700" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Heinström, Jannica,</subfield><subfield code="d">1970-</subfield><subfield code="1">https://id.oclc.org/worldcat/entity/E39PCjGJg9jkydXkYDJqkhqHbq</subfield><subfield code="0">http://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/nr2003014361</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="758" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="i">has work:</subfield><subfield code="a">New directions in information behaviour (Text)</subfield><subfield code="1">https://id.oclc.org/worldcat/entity/E39PCFvcCTCvmfvHDqQdJCQwmd</subfield><subfield code="4">https://id.oclc.org/worldcat/ontology/hasWork</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="776" ind1="0" ind2="8"><subfield code="i">Print version:</subfield><subfield code="t">New directions in information behaviour.</subfield><subfield code="d">Bingley, U.K. : Emerald, 2011</subfield><subfield code="z">9781780521718</subfield><subfield code="w">(OCoLC)758891493</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="830" ind1=" " ind2="0"><subfield code="a">Library and information science (New York, N.Y. : Online) ;</subfield><subfield code="v">v. 1.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="856" ind1="4" ind2="0"><subfield code="l">FWS01</subfield><subfield code="p">ZDB-4-EBU</subfield><subfield code="q">FWS_PDA_EBU</subfield><subfield code="u">https://search.ebscohost.com/login.aspx?direct=true&scope=site&db=nlebk&AN=408164</subfield><subfield code="3">Volltext</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="938" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Askews and Holts Library Services</subfield><subfield code="b">ASKH</subfield><subfield code="n">AH25598830</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="938" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">ProQuest Ebook Central</subfield><subfield code="b">EBLB</subfield><subfield code="n">EBL807421</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="938" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">ebrary</subfield><subfield code="b">EBRY</subfield><subfield code="n">ebr10512343</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="938" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">YBP Library Services</subfield><subfield code="b">YANK</subfield><subfield code="n">7247074</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="994" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">92</subfield><subfield code="b">GEBAY</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="912" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">ZDB-4-EBU</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="049" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">DE-863</subfield></datafield></record></collection> |

New Research in Information Behavior, co-edited by Professor Amanda Spink and Dr.
