Zusammenfassung: | This book brings together leading scholars of Caribbean education from around the world. Schooling continues to hold a special place both as a means to achieve social mobility and as a mechanism for supporting the economy of Caribbean nations. In this book, the Caribbean includes the Greater and Lesser Antilles. The Greater Antilles is made up of the five larger islands (and six countries) of the northern Caribbean, including the Cayman Islands, Cuba, Hispaniola (Haiti and the Dominican Republic), Puerto Rico, and Jamaica. The Lesser Antilles includes the Windward and Leeward Islands which are inclusive of Barbados, St. Vincent, Trinidad and Tobago along with several other islands. Each chapter provides a unique perspective on the various social and cultural issues that define Caribbean education and schooling. The Handbook on Caribbean Education fills a void in the literature and documents the important research being done throughout the Caribbean. Creating a space where Caribbean voices are a part of "international" discussions about 21st century global matters and concerns is an important contribution of this work. -- |

--</subfield><subfield code="c">Provided by publisher.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="588" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Description based on online resource; title from digital title page (viewed on May 10, 2021).</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="0"><subfield code="a">Education</subfield><subfield code="z">Caribbean Area.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="0"><subfield code="a">Education</subfield><subfield code="x">Aims and objectives</subfield><subfield code="z">Caribbean Area.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="0"><subfield code="a">Education and state</subfield><subfield code="z">Caribbean Area.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="0"><subfield code="a">Educational change</subfield><subfield code="z">Caribbean Area.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="6"><subfield code="a">Éducation</subfield><subfield code="x">Politique gouvernementale</subfield><subfield code="z">Caraïbes (Région)</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="6"><subfield code="a">Enseignement</subfield><subfield code="x">Réforme</subfield><subfield code="z">Caraïbes (Région)</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Education</subfield><subfield code="2">fast</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Education</subfield><subfield code="x">Aims and objectives</subfield><subfield code="2">fast</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Education and state</subfield><subfield code="2">fast</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Educational change</subfield><subfield code="2">fast</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="651" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Caribbean Area</subfield><subfield code="2">fast</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="700" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Blair, Eleanor,</subfield><subfield code="e">editor.</subfield><subfield code="0">http://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/n2015063619</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="700" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Williams, Kenneth A.,</subfield><subfield code="e">editor.</subfield><subfield code="0">http://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/n2021004013</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="758" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="i">has work:</subfield><subfield code="a">The handbook on Caribbean education (Text)</subfield><subfield code="1">https://id.oclc.org/worldcat/entity/E39PCFQ3mBtm8p9CKpKMk3yKh3</subfield><subfield code="4">https://id.oclc.org/worldcat/ontology/hasWork</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="776" ind1="0" ind2="8"><subfield code="i">Print version:</subfield><subfield code="t">The handbook on Caribbean education</subfield><subfield code="d">Charlotte, NC : Information Age Publishing, Inc., [2021]</subfield><subfield code="z">9781648024092</subfield><subfield code="w">(DLC) 2021001291</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="856" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="l">FWS01</subfield><subfield code="p">ZDB-4-EBA</subfield><subfield code="q">FWS_PDA_EBA</subfield><subfield code="u">https://search.ebscohost.com/login.aspx?direct=true&scope=site&db=nlebk&AN=2755795</subfield><subfield code="3">Volltext</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="856" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="l">CBO01</subfield><subfield code="p">ZDB-4-EBA</subfield><subfield code="q">FWS_PDA_EBA</subfield><subfield code="u">https://search.ebscohost.com/login.aspx?direct=true&scope=site&db=nlebk&AN=2755795</subfield><subfield code="3">Volltext</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="938" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">ProQuest Ebook Central</subfield><subfield code="b">EBLB</subfield><subfield code="n">EBL6552106</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="938" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">YBP Library Services</subfield><subfield code="b">YANK</subfield><subfield code="n">17352436</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="938" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">EBSCOhost</subfield><subfield code="b">EBSC</subfield><subfield code="n">2755795</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="994" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">92</subfield><subfield code="b">GEBAY</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="912" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">ZDB-4-EBA</subfield></datafield></record></collection> |

Caribbean Education : A Future of Possibilities / Kenneth Williams. This book brings together leading scholars of Caribbean education from around the world. -- Provided by publisher.
