Zusammenfassung: | "The present book, entitled The Images of 'Skaz' (One approach to Modern Prosaic Writing) is concerned with the narrative strategy that during the 1st and 2nd decade of the 20th century, B. Eikhenbaum called ,skaz'. The author puts forward a concept explaining skaz as a specific narrative form closely connected with the spontaneous verbal praxis. The starting points for my explanation are three studies by Eikhenbaum: The Illusion of Skaz (1918), How Gogol's ,Overcoat' is Made (1918) and Leskov and Contemporary Prose (1925). In this material are shown both the constants and shifts in outlining the problem of skaz. The goal of this work is not only to examine Eikhenbaum's concept but also to offer further potential interpretations and connect the problem of skaz with the larger field of reflections, aiming finally at the concept of skaz as a kind of performativity. The explanation is divided into two parts: in the first part, the emphasis is placed on the theoretical explanation of the problem, while the second deals with interpretations of specific artistic texts. Therefore, a formalistic approach to literature (mainly to prose fiction) is presented as a base, from which grows Eikhenbaum's own theory. The reception of it is also described - ranging from a glowing acceptance (mainly within the wide framework of formalism) to a sharp refusal, then to further development. The main axis is built upon contributions from two critics, V. V. Vinogradov and M. Bakhtin. However, by closer examination of their studies, many significant parallels with Eikhenbaum are revealed (primarily in Bakhtin's concept of "dialogue"). For the interpretative part I have chosen texts that vary considerably covering a wide range of interpretations. The goal is to show a single line of modern prosaic writing and its modifications. The texts are selected mainly from Russian literature (Avvakum, Leskov, Zóshchenko, Aleshkóvsky, Venedikt Yerofeyev, Sokolov, Limónov, Petrushevskaya), as well as from Czech authors (Hrabal, Vaculík), to represent the extremes of possibilities in the skaz narration."-- |

"The present book, entitled The Images of 'Skaz' (One approach to Modern Prosaic Writing) is concerned with the narrative strategy that during the 1st and 2nd decade of the 20th century, B. The texts are selected mainly from Russian literature (Avvakum, Leskov, Zóshchenko, Aleshkóvsky, Venedikt Yerofeyev, Sokolov, Limónov, Petrushevskaya), as well as from Czech authors (Hrabal, Vaculík), to represent the extremes of possibilities in the skaz narration."-- Provided by publisher Intro -- Obsah -- Úvod -- Teoretická část -- I.
