Zusammenfassung: | This book explores the challenges and opportunities involved in conducting research with members of immigrant, refugee and other minoritized communities. Through first-hand reflective accounts, contributors explore community-based collaborative work, and suggest important implications for applied linguistics, educational research and anthropological investigations of language, literacy and culture. By critically reflecting on the power and limits of university-based research conducted on behalf of, or in collaboration with, members of local communities and by exploring the complicated relationships, dynamics and understandings that emerge, the chapters collectively demonstrate the value of reflecting on the possibilities and challenges of the research process, including the ethical and emotional dimensions of participating in collaborative research. |

Through first-hand reflective accounts, contributors explore community-based collaborative work, and suggest important implications for applied linguistics, educational research and anthropological investigations of language, literacy and culture. By critically reflecting on the power and limits of university-based research conducted on behalf of, or in collaboration with, members of local communities and by exploring the complicated relationships, dynamics and understandings that emerge, the chapters collectively demonstrate the value of reflecting on the possibilities and challenges of the research process, including the ethical and emotional dimensions of participating in collaborative research.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="546" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">In English.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="0"><subfield code="a">Linguistic minorities</subfield><subfield code="x">Study and teaching</subfield><subfield code="v">Case studies.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="0"><subfield code="a">Ethnology</subfield><subfield code="x">Study and teaching</subfield><subfield code="v">Case studies.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="0"><subfield code="a">Linguistics</subfield><subfield code="x">Study and teaching</subfield><subfield code="v">Case studies.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="6"><subfield code="a">Minorités linguistiques</subfield><subfield code="x">Étude et enseignement</subfield><subfield code="v">Études de cas.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="6"><subfield code="a">Ethnologie</subfield><subfield code="x">Étude et enseignement</subfield><subfield code="v">Études de cas.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="6"><subfield code="a">Linguistique</subfield><subfield code="x">Étude et enseignement</subfield><subfield code="v">Études de cas.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">POLITICAL SCIENCE</subfield><subfield code="x">Public Policy</subfield><subfield code="x">Cultural Policy.</subfield><subfield code="2">bisacsh</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">SOCIAL SCIENCE</subfield><subfield code="x">Anthropology</subfield><subfield code="x">Cultural.</subfield><subfield code="2">bisacsh</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">SOCIAL SCIENCE</subfield><subfield code="x">Popular Culture.</subfield><subfield code="2">bisacsh</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Ethnology</subfield><subfield code="x">Study and teaching</subfield><subfield code="2">fast</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Linguistics</subfield><subfield code="x">Study and teaching</subfield><subfield code="2">fast</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="655" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Case studies</subfield><subfield code="2">fast</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="700" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Warriner, Doris S.,</subfield><subfield code="d">1969-</subfield><subfield code="e">editor.</subfield><subfield code="1">https://id.oclc.org/worldcat/entity/E39PCjDq6K6KX7vgRbmFGCRhH3</subfield><subfield code="0">http://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/n2018068941</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="700" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Bigelow, Martha,</subfield><subfield code="e">editor.</subfield><subfield code="0">http://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/no2009087218</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="758" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="i">has work:</subfield><subfield code="a">Critical reflections on research methods (Text)</subfield><subfield code="1">https://id.oclc.org/worldcat/entity/E39PCFxXFqyCcm4ygm6HQ9Dhd3</subfield><subfield code="4">https://id.oclc.org/worldcat/ontology/hasWork</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="776" ind1="0" ind2="8"><subfield code="i">Print version:</subfield><subfield code="t">Critical reflections on research methods.</subfield><subfield code="d">Bristol, UK ; Online resource; title from PDF title page (EBSCO, viewed January 18, 2019). This book explores the challenges and opportunities involved in conducting research with members of immigrant, refugee and other minoritized communities.
