Zusammenfassung: | Creativity is an integral part of human history, yet most studies focus on the modern era, leaving unresolved questions about the formative role that creativity has played in the past. This book explores the fundamental nature of creativity in the European Bronze Age. Considering developments in crafts that we take for granted today, such as pottery, textiles, and metalwork, the volume compares and contrasts various aspects of their development, from the construction of the materials themselves, through the production processes, to the design and effects deployed in finished objects. It explores how creativity is closely related to changes in material culture, how it directs responses to the new and unfamiliar, and how it has resulted in changes to familiar things and practices. Written by an international team of scholars, the case studies in this volume consider wider issues and provide detailed insights into creative solutions found in specific objects. |

Written by an international team of scholars, the case studies in this volume consider wider issues and provide detailed insights into creative solutions found in specific objects.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="588" ind1="0" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Vendor-supplied metadata.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="0"><subfield code="a">Bronze age</subfield><subfield code="z">Europe.</subfield><subfield code="0">http://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/sh85017098</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="0"><subfield code="a">Metal-work, Prehistoric</subfield><subfield code="z">Europe.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="0"><subfield code="a">Pottery, Prehistoric</subfield><subfield code="z">Europe.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="6"><subfield code="a">Âge du bronze</subfield><subfield code="z">Europe.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="6"><subfield code="a">Métallurgie préhistorique</subfield><subfield code="z">Europe.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">HISTORY</subfield><subfield code="x">Ancient</subfield><subfield code="x">General.</subfield><subfield code="2">bisacsh</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Bronze age</subfield><subfield code="2">fast</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Metal-work, Prehistoric</subfield><subfield code="2">fast</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Pottery, Prehistoric</subfield><subfield code="2">fast</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="651" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Europe</subfield><subfield code="2">fast</subfield><subfield code="1">https://id.oclc.org/worldcat/entity/E39PBJxCxPbbk4CPJDQJb4r6rq</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="655" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">History</subfield><subfield code="2">fast</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="700" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Sofaer, Joanna R.,</subfield><subfield code="e">author.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="700" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Sørensen, Marie Louise Stig,</subfield><subfield code="e">author.</subfield><subfield code="0">http://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/nr89008208</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="758" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="i">has work:</subfield><subfield code="a">Creativity in the bronze age (Text)</subfield><subfield code="1">https://id.oclc.org/worldcat/entity/E39PCFB7YcypC7g7kKhb7txMj3</subfield><subfield code="4">https://id.oclc.org/worldcat/ontology/hasWork</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="776" ind1="0" ind2="8"><subfield code="i">Print version:</subfield><subfield code="a">Jørgensen, Lise Bender.</subfield><subfield code="t">Creativity in the bronze age.</subfield><subfield code="d">Cambridge : Cambridge University Press, 2018</subfield><subfield code="z">9781108421362</subfield><subfield code="z">1108421369</subfield><subfield code="w">(OCoLC)1005721064</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="856" ind1="4" ind2="0"><subfield code="l">FWS01</subfield><subfield code="p">ZDB-4-EBA</subfield><subfield code="q">FWS_PDA_EBA</subfield><subfield code="u">https://search.ebscohost.com/login.aspx?direct=true&scope=site&db=nlebk&AN=1694355</subfield><subfield code="3">Volltext</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="938" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">EBL - Ebook Library</subfield><subfield code="b">EBLB</subfield><subfield code="n">EBL5254297</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="938" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">EBSCOhost</subfield><subfield code="b">EBSC</subfield><subfield code="n">1694355</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="938" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">YBP Library Services</subfield><subfield code="b">YANK</subfield><subfield code="n">15079384</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="938" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">YBP Library Services</subfield><subfield code="b">YANK</subfield><subfield code="n">15128959</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="994" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">92</subfield><subfield code="b">GEBAY</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="912" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">ZDB-4-EBA</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="049" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">DE-863</subfield></datafield></record></collection> |

Creativity is an integral part of human history, yet most studies focus on the modern era, leaving unresolved questions about the formative role that creativity has played in the past.
