Zusammenfassung: | Applied Theatre: Creative Ageing examines the complex social, political and cultural needs of a diverse group in our society and asks how contemporary applied theatre responds to those needs. For the first time, this publication allows an examination of innovative national and international practice in applied theatre that responds to the needs of older adults to encourage outcomes such as wellbeing and social inclusion. The volume does so while also questioning how we, as a society, wish to respond to the complex needs of older adults and the process of ageing and how applied theatre practices can help us do so in a way that is both positive and inclusive. In Part One Sheila McCormick reviews and historicises the practice of applied theatre with, for and by the elderly. It argues that pioneering applied theatre strategies are vital if the creative practice is to respond to the growing needs of older members of society, and reflects on particular cultural responses to ageing and the elderly. The second part of the book is made up of essays and case studies from leading experts and practitioners from Britain, America and Australia, including consideration of applied theatre approaches to dementia, health, wellbeing, social inclusion and Alzheimer's disease. |

The second part of the book is made up of essays and case studies from leading experts and practitioners from Britain, America and Australia, including consideration of applied theatre approaches to dementia, health, wellbeing, social inclusion and Alzheimer's disease.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="588" ind1="0" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Print version record.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="0"><subfield code="a">Theater and older people.</subfield><subfield code="0">http://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/sh85134567</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="0"><subfield code="a">Older people</subfield><subfield code="x">Recreation.</subfield><subfield code="0">http://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/sh85002123</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="0"><subfield code="a">Arts and older people.</subfield><subfield code="0">http://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/sh85008478</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="6"><subfield code="a">Théâtre et personnes âgées.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="6"><subfield code="a">Personnes âgées</subfield><subfield code="x">Loisirs.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="6"><subfield code="a">Arts et personnes âgées.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Community & outreach services.</subfield><subfield code="2">bicssc</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Coping with old age.</subfield><subfield code="2">bicssc</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Theatre studies.</subfield><subfield code="2">bicssc</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">PERFORMING ARTS</subfield><subfield code="x">Theater</subfield><subfield code="x">General.</subfield><subfield code="2">bisacsh</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Arts and older people</subfield><subfield code="2">fast</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Older people</subfield><subfield code="x">Recreation</subfield><subfield code="2">fast</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Theater and older people</subfield><subfield code="2">fast</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Theatre studies.</subfield><subfield code="2">thema</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Library & information services.</subfield><subfield code="2">thema</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Coping with ageing.</subfield><subfield code="2">thema</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Performing Arts.</subfield><subfield code="2">ukslc</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="700" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">McCormick, Sheila,</subfield><subfield code="e">editor.</subfield><subfield code="1">https://id.oclc.org/worldcat/entity/E39PCjCM3tRg9qvbWXHfPyH3cP</subfield><subfield code="0">http://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/n2017025902</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="758" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="i">has work:</subfield><subfield code="a">Applied theatre (Text)</subfield><subfield code="1">https://id.oclc.org/worldcat/entity/E39PCFRgWC7dKRTv4BTfK8HqHC</subfield><subfield code="4">https://id.oclc.org/worldcat/ontology/hasWork</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="776" ind1="0" ind2="8"><subfield code="i">Print version:</subfield><subfield code="t">Applied theatre.</subfield><subfield code="d">London ; Applied Theatre: Creative Ageing examines the complex social, political and cultural needs of a diverse group in our society and asks how contemporary applied theatre responds to those needs.
