Zusammenfassung: | The death of Nobel Prize-winning Doris Lessing sparked a range of commemorations that cemented her place as one of the major figures of twentieth- and twenty-first-century world literature. This volume views Lessinǵ⁰₉s writing as a whole and in retrospect, focusing on her innovative attempts to rework literary form to engage with the challenges thrown up by the sweeping historical changes through which she lived. The 12 original chapters provide new readings of Lessinǵ⁰₉s work via contexts ranging from post-war youth politics and radical womeń⁰₉s writing to European cinema, analyse her experiments with genres from realism to autobiography and science-fiction, and draw on previously unstudied archive material. The volume also explores how Lessinǵ⁰₉s writing can provide insight into some of the issues now shaping twenty-first century scholarship ́⁰₃ including trauma, ecocriticism, the post-human, and world literature ́⁰₃ as they emerge as defining challenges to our own present moment in history. |

The volume also explores how Lessinǵ⁰₉s writing can provide insight into some of the issues now shaping twenty-first century scholarship ́⁰₃ including trauma, ecocriticism, the post-human, and world literature ́⁰₃ as they emerge as defining challenges to our own present moment in history.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="504" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Includes bibliographical references (pages 181-203) and index.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="600" ind1="1" ind2="0"><subfield code="a">Lessing, Doris,</subfield><subfield code="d">1919-2013</subfield><subfield code="x">Criticism and interpretation.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="600" ind1="1" ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Lessing, Doris,</subfield><subfield code="d">1919-2013</subfield><subfield code="2">fast</subfield><subfield code="1">https://id.oclc.org/worldcat/entity/E39PBJx4rkYW7HVcHwyWY7CCwC</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">LITERARY CRITICISM</subfield><subfield code="x">Feminist.</subfield><subfield code="2">bisacsh</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="655" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Criticism, interpretation, etc.</subfield><subfield code="2">fast</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="700" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Brazil, Kevin,</subfield><subfield code="d">1987-</subfield><subfield code="e">editor.</subfield><subfield code="1">https://id.oclc.org/worldcat/entity/E39PCjy3D8YBxkcVPd38WJmC43</subfield><subfield code="0">http://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/no2016050811</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="700" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Sergeant, David,</subfield><subfield code="d">1979-</subfield><subfield code="e">editor.</subfield><subfield code="1">https://id.oclc.org/worldcat/entity/E39PCjF48GqdCPcTkxjHWrRJCP</subfield><subfield code="0">http://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/no2009100378</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="700" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Sperlinger, Tom,</subfield><subfield code="d">1979-</subfield><subfield code="e">editor.</subfield><subfield code="1">https://id.oclc.org/worldcat/entity/E39PCjxFm6MwdyhWfjy39rG6Xd</subfield><subfield code="0">http://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/nb2003022001</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="758" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="i">has work:</subfield><subfield code="a">Doris Lessing and the forming of history (Text)</subfield><subfield code="1">https://id.oclc.org/worldcat/entity/E39PCGFKwgF7Wv4qG3tcgfvKtX</subfield><subfield code="4">https://id.oclc.org/worldcat/ontology/hasWork</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="776" ind1="0" ind2="8"><subfield code="i">Print version:</subfield><subfield code="z">1474414435</subfield><subfield code="z">9781474414432</subfield><subfield code="w">(OCoLC)949913220</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="856" ind1="4" ind2="0"><subfield code="l">FWS01</subfield><subfield code="p">ZDB-4-EBA</subfield><subfield code="q">FWS_PDA_EBA</subfield><subfield code="u">https://search.ebscohost.com/login.aspx?direct=true&scope=site&db=nlebk&AN=1584888</subfield><subfield code="3">Volltext</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="938" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Askews and Holts Library Services</subfield><subfield code="b">ASKH</subfield><subfield code="n">AH33867892</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="938" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Askews and Holts Library Services</subfield><subfield code="b">ASKH</subfield><subfield code="n">AH33722351</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="938" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">ProQuest Ebook Central</subfield><subfield code="b">EBLB</subfield><subfield code="n">EBL5013864</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="938" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">EBSCOhost</subfield><subfield code="b">EBSC</subfield><subfield code="n">1584888</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="938" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">ProQuest MyiLibrary Digital eBook Collection</subfield><subfield code="b">IDEB</subfield><subfield code="n">cis36941344</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="938" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">YBP Library Services</subfield><subfield code="b">YANK</subfield><subfield code="n">13954115</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="938" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">YBP Library Services</subfield><subfield code="b">YANK</subfield><subfield code="n">14789563</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="994" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">92</subfield><subfield code="b">GEBAY</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="912" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">ZDB-4-EBA</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="049" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">DE-863</subfield></datafield></record></collection> |
