Zusammenfassung: | Gender in a Transitional Era addresses a range of issues relevant in current gender and sexuality studies scholarship which span many disciplines. The contributors prioritize the critical thinking that continues to support the notion that we, as a society, still have a ways to go toward full gender equality in all spheres of life. This collection positions marginal voices at the center of complex gender issues in today's society. Broad thematic topic areas include parental identities, advice, and self-help; gender performances and role expectations in media; interacting within organizational and social spaces; and tensions and negotiations on politics, health, and feminisms. Though there is still much work to be done concerning an array of gender equality issues, scholars in this collection interrogate a transitional era of gender in which changes are evident, yet challenges persist. --Provided by publisher. |

This collection positions marginal voices at the center of complex gender issues in today's society. Broad thematic topic areas include parental identities, advice, and self-help; gender performances and role expectations in media; interacting within organizational and social spaces; and tensions and negotiations on politics, health, and feminisms. Though there is still much work to be done concerning an array of gender equality issues, scholars in this collection interrogate a transitional era of gender in which changes are evident, yet challenges persist. --Provided by publisher.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="0"><subfield code="a">Sex role.</subfield><subfield code="0">http://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/sh85120663</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="0"><subfield code="a">Women</subfield><subfield code="x">Identity.</subfield><subfield code="0">http://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/sh95001570</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="0"><subfield code="a">Women</subfield><subfield code="x">Social conditions.</subfield><subfield code="0">http://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/sh85147341</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="0"><subfield code="a">Feminism.</subfield><subfield code="0">http://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/sh85047741</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="2"><subfield code="a">Feminism</subfield><subfield code="0">https://id.nlm.nih.gov/mesh/D019513</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="2"><subfield code="a">Gender Role</subfield><subfield code="0">https://id.nlm.nih.gov/mesh/D000085402</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="6"><subfield code="a">Rôle selon le sexe.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="6"><subfield code="a">Femmes</subfield><subfield code="x">Identité.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="6"><subfield code="a">Femmes</subfield><subfield code="x">Conditions sociales.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="6"><subfield code="a">Féminisme.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">sex role.</subfield><subfield code="2">aat</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">feminism.</subfield><subfield code="2">aat</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">SOCIAL SCIENCE</subfield><subfield code="x">Discrimination & Race Relations.</subfield><subfield code="2">bisacsh</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">SOCIAL SCIENCE</subfield><subfield code="x">Minority Studies.</subfield><subfield code="2">bisacsh</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Feminism</subfield><subfield code="2">fast</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Sex role</subfield><subfield code="2">fast</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Women</subfield><subfield code="x">Identity</subfield><subfield code="2">fast</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Women</subfield><subfield code="x">Social conditions</subfield><subfield code="2">fast</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="700" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Martinez, Amanda R.,</subfield><subfield code="d">1982-</subfield><subfield code="1">https://id.oclc.org/worldcat/entity/E39PCjCtQjD37HH9VYgJj6Br4q</subfield><subfield code="0">http://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/n2014061625</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="700" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Miller, Lucy J.,</subfield><subfield code="d">1981-</subfield><subfield code="1">https://id.oclc.org/worldcat/entity/E39PCjKkHyxkbtb4BTQFWT6Td3</subfield><subfield code="0">http://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/n2014061632</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="758" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="i">has work:</subfield><subfield code="a">Gender in a transitional era (Text)</subfield><subfield code="1">https://id.oclc.org/worldcat/entity/E39PCFXqcthjJk3TMrj9wWhXMP</subfield><subfield code="4">https://id.oclc.org/worldcat/ontology/hasWork</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="776" ind1="0" ind2="8"><subfield code="i">Print version:</subfield><subfield code="t">Gender in a transitional era.</subfield><subfield code="d">Lanham ;
