Zusammenfassung: | "The Kierkegaardian account of becoming a Christian has come to be perceived in radically egocentric terms. Torrance challenges this perception by demonstrating that Kierkegaard was devoted to the idea of Christian conversion as a transformative process of becoming. This process is grounded in an active relationship initiated by the eternal God who has established kinship with us in time. Torrance focuses on 'becoming a Christian' as a particular theological theme that deserves further attention - how 'becoming a Christian' or Christian transformation should be construed in relation to God's initiating and active relationship to the person. Torrance's account of Kierkegaard on human transformation demonstrates in striking ways Kierkegaard's relevance to current issues in systematic theology and philosophical theology around the nature of Christian conversion, particularly how conversion might be re-conceptualized in strong divinely-relational and transformative rather than in progressive self-developmental terms. This study also considers how Kierkegaard was able to negotiate his emphasis on the God-relationship with his emphasis on the importance of individual reflection, decision and action in the Christian life."--Bloomsbury Publishing |

This study also considers how Kierkegaard was able to negotiate his emphasis on the God-relationship with his emphasis on the importance of individual reflection, decision and action in the Christian life."--Bloomsbury Publishing</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="546" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">English.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="600" ind1="1" ind2="0"><subfield code="a">Kierkegaard, Søren,</subfield><subfield code="d">1813-1855</subfield><subfield code="x">Religion.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="600" ind1="1" ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Kierkegaard, Søren,</subfield><subfield code="d">1813-1855</subfield><subfield code="2">fast</subfield><subfield code="1">https://id.oclc.org/worldcat/entity/E39PBJq73G94pVCb774bHwPfbd</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="0"><subfield code="a">Christianity</subfield><subfield code="x">Philosophy.</subfield><subfield code="0">http://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/sh2008100399</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="0"><subfield code="a">Philosophy and religion.</subfield><subfield code="0">http://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/sh85100999</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="6"><subfield code="a">Christianisme</subfield><subfield code="x">Philosophie.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Christian theology.</subfield><subfield code="2">bicssc</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Theology.</subfield><subfield code="2">bicssc</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">RELIGION</subfield><subfield code="x">Christian Theology</subfield><subfield code="x">Systematic.</subfield><subfield code="2">bisacsh</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">RELIGION</subfield><subfield code="x">Christianity</subfield><subfield code="x">General.</subfield><subfield code="2">bisacsh</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Christianity</subfield><subfield code="x">Philosophy</subfield><subfield code="2">fast</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Philosophy and religion</subfield><subfield code="2">fast</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Religion</subfield><subfield code="2">fast</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="655" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Criticism, interpretation, etc.</subfield><subfield code="2">fast</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="758" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="i">has work:</subfield><subfield code="a">The freedom to become a Christian (Text)</subfield><subfield code="1">https://id.oclc.org/worldcat/entity/E39PCG3fHpFcgBcMwgYWvPfdDC</subfield><subfield code="4">https://id.oclc.org/worldcat/ontology/hasWork</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="776" ind1="0" ind2="8"><subfield code="i">Print version:</subfield><subfield code="a">Torrance, Andrew B.</subfield><subfield code="t">Freedom to Become a Christian : A Kierkegaardian Account of Human Transformation in Relationship with God.</subfield><subfield code="d">London : Bloomsbury Publishing, ©2016</subfield><subfield code="z">9780567661210</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="830" ind1=" " ind2="0"><subfield code="a">T & T Clark theology.</subfield><subfield code="0">http://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/no2007133966</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="856" ind1="4" ind2="0"><subfield code="l">FWS01</subfield><subfield code="p">ZDB-4-EBA</subfield><subfield code="q">FWS_PDA_EBA</subfield><subfield code="u">https://search.ebscohost.com/login.aspx?direct=true&scope=site&db=nlebk&AN=1118545</subfield><subfield code="3">Volltext</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="938" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Bloomsbury Publishing</subfield><subfield code="b">BLOO</subfield><subfield code="n">bpp09259800</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="938" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Coutts Information Services</subfield><subfield code="b">COUT</subfield><subfield code="n">31698799</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="938" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">EBL - "The Kierkegaardian account of becoming a Christian has come to be perceived in radically egocentric terms. This study also considers how Kierkegaard was able to negotiate his emphasis on the God-relationship with his emphasis on the importance of individual reflection, decision and action in the Christian life."--Bloomsbury Publishing English.
