Zusammenfassung: | Exclusion from refugee status for the suspected commission of serious crimes is a topic fraught with political and legal controversy. This is an area which sees the intersection of refugee law with international criminal and humanitarian law and, increasingly, measures taken in the fight against terrorism. In this book, Sarah Singer examines whether and how 'terrorism' has featured in the UK's interpretation and application of the Refugee Convention's 'exclusion clause'. A number of sources are drawn on including questionnaires and interviews conducted with immigration judges, the Home Office's exclusion unit and legal practitioners. She therefore provides an unprecedented and thorough analysis of the UK's approach to asylum seekers suspected of serious criminality. |

a topic fraught with political and legal controversy. She therefore provides an unprecedented and thorough analysis of the UK's approach to asylum seekers suspected of serious criminality.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="0"><subfield code="a">Terrorism</subfield><subfield code="z">Great Britain.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="0"><subfield code="a">Refugees</subfield><subfield code="x">Legal status, laws, etc.</subfield><subfield code="z">Great Britain.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="0"><subfield code="a">Asylum, Right of.</subfield><subfield code="0">http://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/sh85009045</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="6"><subfield code="a">Terrorisme</subfield><subfield code="z">Grande-Bretagne.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">LAW</subfield><subfield code="x">Constitutional.</subfield><subfield code="2">bisacsh</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">LAW</subfield><subfield code="x">Public.</subfield><subfield code="2">bisacsh</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Asylum, Right of</subfield><subfield code="2">fast</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Refugees</subfield><subfield code="x">Legal status, laws, etc.</subfield><subfield code="2">fast</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Terrorism</subfield><subfield code="2">fast</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="651" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Great Britain</subfield><subfield code="2">fast</subfield><subfield code="1">https://id.oclc.org/worldcat/entity/E39PBJdmp7p3cx8hpmJ8HvmTpP</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="758" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="i">has work:</subfield><subfield code="a">Terrorism and exclusion from refugee status in the UK (Text)</subfield><subfield code="1">https://id.oclc.org/worldcat/entity/E39PCGVYMXhpQRqJ6v84mHFmHP</subfield><subfield code="4">https://id.oclc.org/worldcat/ontology/hasWork</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="776" ind1="0" ind2="8"><subfield code="i">Print version:</subfield><subfield code="a">Singer, Sarah (Law teacher).</subfield><subfield code="t">Terrorism and exclusion from refugee status in the UK.</subfield><subfield code="z">9789004292079</subfield><subfield code="z">9004292071</subfield><subfield code="w">(DLC) 2015004545</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="830" ind1=" " ind2="0"><subfield code="a">Queen Mary studies in international law.</subfield><subfield code="0">http://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/no2010099182</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="856" ind1="4" ind2="0"><subfield code="l">FWS01</subfield><subfield code="p">ZDB-4-EBA</subfield><subfield code="q">FWS_PDA_EBA</subfield><subfield code="u">https://search.ebscohost.com/login.aspx?direct=true&scope=site&db=nlebk&AN=1940004</subfield><subfield code="3">Volltext</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="936" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">BATCHLOAD</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="938" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">EBL - Ebook Library</subfield><subfield code="b">EBLB</subfield><subfield code="n">EBL2028207</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="938" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">ebrary</subfield><subfield code="b">EBRY</subfield><subfield code="n">ebr11044561</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="938" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">EBSCOhost</subfield><subfield code="b">EBSC</subfield><subfield code="n">1940004</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="938" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">ProQuest MyiLibrary Digital eBook Collection</subfield><subfield code="b">IDEB</subfield><subfield code="n">cis31432269</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="938" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">YBP Library Services</subfield><subfield code="b">YANK</subfield><subfield code="n">12389913</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="994" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">92</subfield><subfield code="b">GEBAY</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="912" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">ZDB-4-EBA</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="049" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">DE-863</subfield></datafield></record></collection> |

Exclusion from refugee status for the suspected commission of serious crimes is a topic fraught with political and legal controversy.
