Zusammenfassung: | "The B-minor Mass has always represented a fascinating challenge to musical scholarship. Composed over the course of the composer's life, it is considered by many to be Johann Sebastian Bach's greatest and most complex work. The fourteen essays assembled in this volume originate from the International Symposium 'Understanding Bach's B-minor mass' in 2007 at which seventy scholars from eighteen countries gathered to debate the latest topics in the field. In revised and updated form, they form a through and systematic study of Bach's Opus Ultimum, including a wide range of discussions relating to the Mass's historical background and contexts, structure and proportion, sources and editions, and the reception of the work in the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries. In the light of important new developments in the study of the piece, this collection demonstrates the innovation and rigor for which Bach scholarship has become known."-- |

In the light of important new developments in the study of the piece, this collection demonstrates the innovation and rigor for which Bach scholarship has become known."--</subfield><subfield code="c">Provided by publisher.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="588" ind1="0" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Print version record.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="600" ind1="1" ind2="0"><subfield code="a">Bach, Johann Sebastian,</subfield><subfield code="d">1685-1750.</subfield><subfield code="t">Masses,</subfield><subfield code="n">BWV 232,</subfield><subfield code="r">B minor.</subfield><subfield code="0">http://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/no97078986</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="630" ind1="0" ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Masses (Bach, Johann Sebastian)</subfield><subfield code="2">fast</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">MUSIC</subfield><subfield code="x">Instruction & Study</subfield><subfield code="x">Voice.</subfield><subfield code="2">bisacsh</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">MUSIC</subfield><subfield code="x">Lyrics.</subfield><subfield code="2">bisacsh</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">MUSIC</subfield><subfield code="x">Printed Music</subfield><subfield code="x">Vocal.</subfield><subfield code="2">bisacsh</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="655" ind1=" " ind2="4"><subfield code="a">Electronic book.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="700" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Tomita, Yo,</subfield><subfield code="e">editor.</subfield><subfield code="0">http://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/n94115720</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="700" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Leaver, Robin A.,</subfield><subfield code="e">editor.</subfield><subfield code="0">http://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/n83155712</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="700" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Smaczny, Jan,</subfield><subfield code="e">editor.</subfield><subfield code="0">http://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/n98107094</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="776" ind1="0" ind2="8"><subfield code="i">Print version:</subfield><subfield code="t">Exploring Bach's B-minor mass.</subfield><subfield code="d">New York : Cambridge University Press, 2013</subfield><subfield code="z">9781107007901</subfield><subfield code="w">(DLC) 2013013111</subfield><subfield code="w">(OCoLC)834977635</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="856" ind1="4" ind2="0"><subfield code="l">FWS01</subfield><subfield code="p">ZDB-4-EBA</subfield><subfield code="q">FWS_PDA_EBA</subfield><subfield code="u">https://search.ebscohost.com/login.aspx?direct=true&scope=site&db=nlebk&AN=638085</subfield><subfield code="3">Volltext</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="938" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Internet Archive</subfield><subfield code="b">INAR</subfield><subfield code="n">isbn_9781107007901</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="938" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Askews and Holts Library Services</subfield><subfield code="b">ASKH</subfield><subfield code="n">AH26385850</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="938" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">ProQuest Ebook Central</subfield><subfield code="b">EBLB</subfield><subfield code="n">EBL1543541</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="938" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">EBSCOhost</subfield><subfield code="b">EBSC</subfield><subfield code="n">638085</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="938" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">YBP Library Services</subfield><subfield code="b">YANK</subfield><subfield code="n">11338562</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="938" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">YBP Library Services</subfield><subfield code="b">YANK</subfield><subfield code="n">11227934</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="938" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">YBP Library Services</subfield><subfield code="b">YANK</subfield><subfield code="n">11319574</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="938" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">YBP Library Services</subfield><subfield code="b">YANK</subfield><subfield code="n">11347646</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="994" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">92</subfield><subfield code="b">GEBAY</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="912" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">ZDB-4-EBA</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="049" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">DE-863</subfield></datafield></record></collection> |

"The B-minor Mass has always represented a fascinating challenge to musical scholarship.
