Zusammenfassung: | Rank and Style is a collection of essays by Irina Reyfman, a leading scholar of Russian literature and culture. Ranging from the eighteenth to the twentieth century, the essays focus on the interaction of life and literature. In the first part, Reyfman examines how obligatory state service and the Table of Ranks shaped Russian writers'view of themselves as professionals, raising questions about whether the existence of the rank system prompted the development of specifically Russian types of literary discourse. The sections that follow bring together articles on Pushkin, writer and man, as seen by himself and others, essays on Leo Tolstoy, and other aspects of Russian literary and cultural history. In addition to examining little-studied writers and works, Rank and Style offers new approaches to well-studied literary personalities and texts. |

In addition to examining little-studied writers and works, Rank and Style offers new approaches to well-studied literary personalities and texts.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="630" ind1="0" ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Die Stadt ohne Juden</subfield><subfield code="2">gnd</subfield><subfield code="0">http://d-nb.info/gnd/4308888-0</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="0"><subfield code="a">Russian literature</subfield><subfield code="x">History and criticism.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="651" ind1=" " ind2="0"><subfield code="a">Russia</subfield><subfield code="x">In literature.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="6"><subfield code="a">Littérature russe</subfield><subfield code="x">Histoire et critique.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">LITERARY CRITICISM</subfield><subfield code="x">Russian & Former Soviet Union.</subfield><subfield code="2">bisacsh</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Literature</subfield><subfield code="2">fast</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Russian literature</subfield><subfield code="2">fast</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="651" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Russia</subfield><subfield code="2">fast</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Schriftsteller</subfield><subfield code="2">gnd</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Sozialstatus</subfield><subfield code="2">gnd</subfield><subfield code="0">http://d-nb.info/gnd/4077618-9</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Öffentlicher Dienst</subfield><subfield code="2">gnd</subfield><subfield code="0">http://d-nb.info/gnd/4043169-1</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Literatur</subfield><subfield code="2">gnd</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="651" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Russland</subfield><subfield code="2">gnd</subfield><subfield code="0">http://d-nb.info/gnd/4076899-5</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="655" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Criticism, interpretation, etc.</subfield><subfield code="2">fast</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="758" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="i">has work:</subfield><subfield code="a">Rank and Style (Text)</subfield><subfield code="1">https://id.oclc.org/worldcat/entity/E39PCGrDFB3MQRXdBhwyq8GpKd</subfield><subfield code="4">https://id.oclc.org/worldcat/ontology/hasWork</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="776" ind1="0" ind2=" "><subfield code="c">Hardback</subfield><subfield code="z">9781936235513</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="830" ind1=" " ind2="0"><subfield code="a">Ars Rossika.</subfield><subfield code="0">http://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/no2011062722</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="856" ind1="4" ind2="0"><subfield code="l">FWS01</subfield><subfield code="p">ZDB-4-EBA</subfield><subfield code="q">FWS_PDA_EBA</subfield><subfield code="u">https://search.ebscohost.com/login.aspx?direct=true&scope=site&db=nlebk&AN=500829</subfield><subfield code="3">Volltext</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="938" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Askews and Holts Library Services</subfield><subfield code="b">ASKH</subfield><subfield code="n">AH25159412</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="938" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">De Gruyter</subfield><subfield code="b">DEGR</subfield><subfield code="n">9781618111265</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="938" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">EBL - Ebook Library</subfield><subfield code="b">EBLB</subfield><subfield code="n">EBL3110462</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="938" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">ebrary</subfield><subfield code="b">EBRY</subfield><subfield code="n">ebr10567518</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="938" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">EBSCOhost</subfield><subfield code="b">EBSC</subfield><subfield code="n">500829</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="938" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">ProQuest MyiLibrary Digital eBook Collection</subfield><subfield code="b">IDEB</subfield><subfield code="n">cis27281221</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="938" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">YBP Library Services</subfield><subfield code="b">YANK</subfield><subfield code="n">7696516</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="994" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">92</subfield><subfield code="b">GEBAY</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="912" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">ZDB-4-EBA</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="049" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">DE-863</subfield></datafield></record></collection> |

Rank and Style is a collection of essays by Irina Reyfman, a leading scholar of Russian literature and culture.
