Zusammenfassung: | This comprehensive handbook provides a simplified, practical, and innovative approach to understanding the design and manufacture of plastic products. It will expand the reader's understanding of plastics technology by defining and focusing on past, current, and future technical trends. Plastics behavior is presented so as to help readers fabricate products that meet performance standards, low-cost requirements, and profitability targets. Different plastic products are reviewed to gain a better understanding of how behavior affects performance and cost efficiency. Examples include toys, medical devices, cars, boats, underwater devices, containers, springs, pipes, buildings, and aircrafts. Functional behaviors are also explained in terms of thermoplastics, elastomers, reinforced plastics, and other common plastics, along with their many fabrication processes (extrusion, injection molding, blow molding, forming, foaming, reaction injection molding, and rotational molding). This material is presented so that both technical and non-technical readers can understand the interrelationships of materials to processes. The authors examine different plastic products and their related critical factors, from meeting performance requirements in different environments to reducing costs and targeting for zero defects. |

The authors examine different plastic products and their related critical factors, from meeting performance requirements in different environments to reducing costs and targeting for zero defects.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="500" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Title from PDF title page (viewed Oct. 5, 2010).</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="546" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">English.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="0"><subfield code="a">Plastics.</subfield><subfield code="0">http://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/sh85103153</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="2"><subfield code="a">Plastics</subfield><subfield code="0">https://id.nlm.nih.gov/mesh/D010969</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="6"><subfield code="a">Matières plastiques.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">TECHNOLOGY & ENGINEERING</subfield><subfield code="x">Chemical & Biochemical.</subfield><subfield code="2">bisacsh</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Plastics</subfield><subfield code="2">fast</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="653" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Introduction to Plastics</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="653" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Plastics Materials</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="653" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Behaviors of Plastics</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="653" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Selecting Plastics</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="653" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Recycling Plastics</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="653" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Plastics Comparisons</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="653" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Fabricating Processes</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="653" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Plasticators</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="653" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Tooling</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="653" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Processing Machinery Lines</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="653" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Extrusion</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="653" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Injection Molding</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="653" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Thermoforming</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="653" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Foam Processes</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="653" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Reinforced Plastics</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="653" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Compression Molding and Transfer Molding</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="653" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Rotational Molding</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="653" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Calendaring</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="653" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Reaction Injection Molding</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="653" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Other Processes</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="653" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Designing Products</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="653" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Troubleshooting</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="653" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Computer Systems</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="653" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Testing/Quality Control/Statistics</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="653" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Cost Estimating and Profit Planning</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="653" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Markets</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="653" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Laws and Regulations</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="700" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Rosato, Donald V.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="700" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Rosato, Marlene G.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="700" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Schott, Nick R.,</subfield><subfield code="d">1939-</subfield><subfield code="1">https://id.oclc.org/worldcat/entity/E39PCjHRpD9MRwPd6Gcpr78gXb</subfield><subfield code="0">http://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/nb2011029096</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="758" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="i">has work:</subfield><subfield code="a">Plastics technology handbook (Text)</subfield><subfield code="1">https://id.oclc.org/worldcat/entity/E39PCGkkHkFQT7MMx373HCcbHP</subfield><subfield code="4">https://id.oclc.org/worldcat/ontology/hasWork</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="776" ind1="0" ind2="8"><subfield code="i">Print version:</subfield><subfield code="a">Rosato, Don.</subfield><subfield code="t">Plastics Technology Handbook - This comprehensive handbook provides a simplified, practical, and innovative approach to understanding the design and manufacture of plastic products.
