Zusammenfassung: | "Featuring excerpts of essays collected from over one thousand young adults while in the throes of divorce, this book paints a picture of the pain and the hope shown by the storytellers. By framing the narratives with an analysis of the most recent divorce literature, the authors provide readers with a greater and more vivid understanding of the effects of divorce. Challenging the contention that most children will be irretrievably hurt by their parents' divorce, some stories clearly demonstrate the strength and resilience many have learned in dealing with a divorce in the family. Emphasis is placed on how hope about the possibilities of having close relationships - as well as a willingness to create stronger families in their own lives - represent abiding motivations in this sample of young people. The authors hope that the use of the raw input of respondents will make the experiences more realistic and ultimately help people deal with major loss events in their lives"--Provided by publisher |

The authors hope that the use of the raw input of respondents will make the experiences more realistic and ultimately help people deal with major loss events in their lives"--Provided by publisher</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="588" ind1="0" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Print version record.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="546" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">English.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="0"><subfield code="a">Children of divorced parents</subfield><subfield code="z">United States</subfield><subfield code="v">Case studies.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="0"><subfield code="a">Divorce</subfield><subfield code="z">United States</subfield><subfield code="v">Case studies.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="0"><subfield code="a">Parent and child</subfield><subfield code="z">United States</subfield><subfield code="v">Case studies.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="6"><subfield code="a">Enfants de divorcés</subfield><subfield code="z">États-Unis</subfield><subfield code="v">Études de cas.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="6"><subfield code="a">Divorce</subfield><subfield code="z">États-Unis</subfield><subfield code="v">Études de cas.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="6"><subfield code="a">Parents et enfants</subfield><subfield code="z">États-Unis</subfield><subfield code="v">Études de cas.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">FAMILY & RELATIONSHIPS</subfield><subfield code="x">Divorce & Separation.</subfield><subfield code="2">bisacsh</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Children of divorced parents</subfield><subfield code="2">fast</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Divorce</subfield><subfield code="2">fast</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Parent and child</subfield><subfield code="2">fast</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="651" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">United States</subfield><subfield code="2">fast</subfield><subfield code="1">https://id.oclc.org/worldcat/entity/E39PBJtxgQXMWqmjMjjwXRHgrq</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="655" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Case studies</subfield><subfield code="2">fast</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="655" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">dissertations.</subfield><subfield code="2">aat</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="655" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Academic theses.</subfield><subfield code="2">lcgft</subfield><subfield code="0">http://id.loc.gov/authorities/genreForms/gf2014026039</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="655" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Thèses et écrits académiques.</subfield><subfield code="2">rvmgf</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="700" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Fine, Mark A.</subfield><subfield code="0">http://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/n93076539</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="776" ind1="0" ind2="8"><subfield code="i">Print version:</subfield><subfield code="a">Harvey, John H., 1943-</subfield><subfield code="t">Children of divorce.</subfield><subfield code="b">2nd ed.</subfield><subfield code="d">New York : Routledge, ©2010</subfield><subfield code="z">9780415872560</subfield><subfield code="w">(DLC) 2010001302</subfield><subfield code="w">(OCoLC)430052172</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="856" ind1="4" ind2="0"><subfield code="l">FWS01</subfield><subfield code="p">ZDB-4-EBA</subfield><subfield code="q">FWS_PDA_EBA</subfield><subfield code="u">https://search.ebscohost.com/login.aspx?direct=true&scope=site&db=nlebk&AN=352557</subfield><subfield code="3">Volltext</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="938" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">eLibro</subfield><subfield code="b">ELBO</subfield><subfield code="n">ELB160924</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="938" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Coutts Information Services</subfield><subfield code="b">COUT</subfield><subfield code="n">17607418</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="938" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">EBL - The pervasiveness of divorce and the value of diverse voices -- Theoretical perspectives and methods -- Voices of despair -- Voices of hope -- Becoming "parentless" due to divorce -- Family chaos and resilience -- Recent narratives and new perspectives on divorce -- Conclusions. "Featuring excerpts of essays collected from over one thousand young adults while in the throes of divorce, this book paints a picture of the pain and the hope shown by the storytellers.
