Zusammenfassung: | The key wager of Traversing the Heart - Journeys of the Inter-religious Imagination is that a spiritual imaginary operating at the level of metaphor, narrative, symbol and epiphany can traverse the borders of dogma and ideology and open genuine conversations between wisdom traditions. Like every hermeneutics of the heart, this journey begins to unfold in a concrete space and time: the inter-religious conference at Bangalore in June 2007. While this collection does not claim to cover the religious traditions of all continents, its concluding essay on transculturation in religious art highlights the importance of the North-South dialogue as a necessary supplement to the East-West one largely addressed in the book. As a call to future journeys and dialogue, this volume aims to communicate the one seminal lesson learned during the India conference: that in our third millennium, religions will be interreligious or they will not be at peace. --Book Jacket. |

--Book Jacket.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="546" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">English.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="0"><subfield code="a">Religions</subfield><subfield code="x">Relations</subfield><subfield code="v">Congresses.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="6"><subfield code="a">Religions</subfield><subfield code="x">Relations</subfield><subfield code="v">Congrès.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">RELIGION</subfield><subfield code="x">Christianity</subfield><subfield code="x">General.</subfield><subfield code="2">bisacsh</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">BODY, MIND & SPIRIT</subfield><subfield code="x">Gaia & Earth Energies.</subfield><subfield code="2">bisacsh</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Interfaith relations</subfield><subfield code="2">fast</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Religions</subfield><subfield code="2">fast</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1="1" ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Interreligieuze dialoog.</subfield><subfield code="2">gtt</subfield><subfield code="0">(NL-LeOCL)146338243</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1="1" ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Verbeelding.</subfield><subfield code="2">gtt</subfield><subfield code="0">(NL-LeOCL)11032241X</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="655" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Conference papers and proceedings</subfield><subfield code="2">fast</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="655" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Congressen (vorm)</subfield><subfield code="2">gtt</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="700" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Kearney, Richard.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="700" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Rizo-Patron, Eileen.</subfield><subfield code="0">http://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/n2010009408</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="758" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="i">has work:</subfield><subfield code="a">Traversing the heart (Text)</subfield><subfield code="1">https://id.oclc.org/worldcat/entity/E39PCFXFqHQBrbgyy9fKWjfH4q</subfield><subfield code="4">https://id.oclc.org/worldcat/ontology/hasWork</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="776" ind1="0" ind2="8"><subfield code="i">Print version:</subfield><subfield code="t">Traversing the heart.</subfield><subfield code="d">Leiden ; Print version record. The key wager of Traversing the Heart - Journeys of the Inter-religious Imagination is that a spiritual imaginary operating at the level of metaphor, narrative, symbol and epiphany can traverse the borders of dogma and ideology and open genuine conversations between wisdom traditions.
