Zusammenfassung: | What might be described as a Pentecostal worldview has become a powerful cultural phenomenon, but it is often at odds with modernity and globalization. Science and the Spirit confronts questions of spirituality in the face of contemporary science. The essays in this volume illustrate how Pentecostalism can usefully engage with technology and scientific discovery and consider what might be distinctive about a Pentecostal dialogue with the sciences. The authors conclude that Pentecostals, with their unique perspectives on spirituality, can contribute new insights for a productive interaction between theology and science. --From publisher's description. |

--From publisher's description.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="588" ind1="0" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Print version record.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="0"><subfield code="a">Religion and science.</subfield><subfield code="0">http://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/sh85112579</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="0"><subfield code="a">Pentecostalism.</subfield><subfield code="0">http://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/sh85099634</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="2"><subfield code="a">Religion and Science</subfield><subfield code="0">https://id.nlm.nih.gov/mesh/D012070</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="6"><subfield code="a">Religion et sciences.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="6"><subfield code="a">Mouvement charismatique.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">RELIGION</subfield><subfield code="x">Christianity</subfield><subfield code="x">General.</subfield><subfield code="2">bisacsh</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">RELIGION</subfield><subfield code="x">Christian Life</subfield><subfield code="x">Social Issues.</subfield><subfield code="2">bisacsh</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Pentecostalism</subfield><subfield code="2">fast</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Religion and science</subfield><subfield code="2">fast</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="700" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Smith, James K. What might be described as a Pentecostal worldview has become a powerful cultural phenomenon, but it is often at odds with modernity and globalization.
