Zusammenfassung: | The impact of globalization of financial markets is a highly debated topic, particularly in recent months when the issue of globalization and contagion of financial distress has become a focus of intense policy debate. The papers in this volume provide an up-to-date overview of the key issues in this debate. While most of the contributions were prepared after the initial outbreak of the current global turmoil and financial crisis, they identify the relative strengths of the risk diversification and risk transmission processes and examine the empirical evidence to date. The book considers the relative roles of banks, nonbank financial institutions and capital markets in both risk diversification and risk transmission. It then evaluates the current status of crisis resolution in a global context, and speculates where to go from here in terms of understanding, resolution, prevention and public policy. |

It then evaluates the current status of crisis resolution in a global context, and speculates where to go from here in terms of understanding, resolution, prevention and public policy.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="588" ind1="0" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Print version record.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="0"><subfield code="a">International finance</subfield><subfield code="v">Congresses.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="0"><subfield code="a">Financial risk</subfield><subfield code="v">Congresses.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="0"><subfield code="a">Financial crises</subfield><subfield code="v">Congresses.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="0"><subfield code="a">Globalization</subfield><subfield code="x">Economic aspects</subfield><subfield code="v">Congresses.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="6"><subfield code="a">Risque financier</subfield><subfield code="v">Congrès.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="6"><subfield code="a">Mondialisation</subfield><subfield code="v">Congrès.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">BUSINESS & ECONOMICS</subfield><subfield code="x">International</subfield><subfield code="x">General.</subfield><subfield code="2">bisacsh</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">BUSINESS & ECONOMICS</subfield><subfield code="x">International</subfield><subfield code="x">Economics.</subfield><subfield code="2">bisacsh</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Financial crises</subfield><subfield code="2">fast</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Financial risk</subfield><subfield code="2">fast</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Globalization</subfield><subfield code="x">Economic aspects</subfield><subfield code="2">fast</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">International finance</subfield><subfield code="2">fast</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="655" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Conference papers and proceedings</subfield><subfield code="2">fast</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="700" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Evanoff, Douglas Darrell,</subfield><subfield code="d">1951-</subfield><subfield code="1">https://id.oclc.org/worldcat/entity/E39PBJc3M9P886dQJKBM6BBQMP</subfield><subfield code="0">http://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/n87100183</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="700" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Hoelscher, David S.</subfield><subfield code="0">http://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/no98024591</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="700" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Kaufman, George G.</subfield><subfield code="0">http://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/n79065506</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="710" ind1="2" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago.</subfield><subfield code="0">http://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/n50001045</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="758" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="i">has work:</subfield><subfield code="a">Globalization and systemic risk (Text)</subfield><subfield code="1">https://id.oclc.org/worldcat/entity/E39PCGXqq87TgKGpktfBjYc4HK</subfield><subfield code="4">https://id.oclc.org/worldcat/ontology/hasWork</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="776" ind1="0" ind2="8"><subfield code="i">Print version:</subfield><subfield code="a">International Banking and Finance Conference (10th : 2007 : Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago).</subfield><subfield code="t">Globalization and systemic risk.</subfield><subfield code="d">Singapore ; The impact of globalization of financial markets is a highly debated topic, particularly in recent months when the issue of globalization and contagion of financial distress has become a focus of intense policy debate.
