Zusammenfassung: | "Nowadays, the script of life is for a large part written by architects and designers. Urban planning decides how we spread our activities geographical. The design of modern residential districts determines for a large part how we communicate with each other. The design of shopping centers determines how we acquire our food. Designers for means of transport decide how we move ourselves and kitchen designers decide how we cook. All this has to do with the mechanisms of technology diffusion which will be elaborated on in this republication. The main issues discussed are the contemporary interrelationship of industrial design and architecture and a confrontation of contemporary design practice in both domains with academic theory and education. The cases used for this publication provide several examples of the various characters of design processes. The subjects of the cases discussed in 'Design Processes' are design processes in general, visualization as a design tool, project management, social complexity collaboration, decision making and technology diffusion"--Provided by publisher |

The main issues discussed are the contemporary interrelationship of industrial design and architecture and a confrontation of contemporary design practice in both domains with academic theory and education. The cases used for this publication provide several examples of the various characters of design processes. The subjects of the cases discussed in 'Design Processes' are design processes in general, visualization as a design tool, project management, social complexity collaboration, decision making and technology diffusion"--Provided by publisher</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="588" ind1="0" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Print version record.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="0"><subfield code="a">Engineering design</subfield><subfield code="v">Congresses.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="0"><subfield code="a">Architectural design</subfield><subfield code="v">Congresses.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="0"><subfield code="a">Industrial design</subfield><subfield code="v">Congresses.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="0"><subfield code="a">Design</subfield><subfield code="v">Congresses.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="6"><subfield code="a">Tibétains</subfield><subfield code="z">Inde</subfield><subfield code="z">Dharmsāla</subfield><subfield code="v">Musique</subfield><subfield code="x">Histoire et critique.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="6"><subfield code="a">Conception technique</subfield><subfield code="v">Congrès.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="6"><subfield code="a">Design architectural</subfield><subfield code="v">Congrès.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="6"><subfield code="a">Design</subfield><subfield code="v">Congrès.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">TECHNOLOGY & ENGINEERING</subfield><subfield code="x">Engineering (General)</subfield><subfield code="2">bisacsh</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">TECHNOLOGY & ENGINEERING</subfield><subfield code="x">Reference.</subfield><subfield code="2">bisacsh</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Architectural design</subfield><subfield code="2">fast</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Design</subfield><subfield code="2">fast</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Engineering design</subfield><subfield code="2">fast</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Industrial design</subfield><subfield code="2">fast</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="655" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Conference papers and proceedings</subfield><subfield code="2">fast</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="700" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Poelman, W. Amsterdam, the Netherlands : IOS Press, [2008] ©2008 1 online resource (122 pages) : illustrations text txt rdacontent computer c rdamedia online resource cr rdacarrier data file "This publication is the result of the first joint conference held on the 6th of June 2008 with the title "Design Processes""--Page 5 Includes bibliographical references. 1. Introduction -- 2. Design Processes: Between academic and practice views -- 3. Visualization: Sketching is alive and well in this digital age -- 4. Project Management: Project and risk management in architecture and industrial design -- 5. Social Complexity: Social complexity in design collaboration -- 6. Decision Making: A decision-based design approach -- 7. Technology Diffusion and Design: The metabolism of knowledge -- Closing speech -- Appendix 1. Chairman's impressions -- Appendix 2. Program. "Nowadays, the script of life is for a large part written by architects and designers. The subjects of the cases discussed in 'Design Processes' are design processes in general, visualization as a design tool, project management, social complexity collaboration, decision making and technology diffusion"--Provided by publisher Print version record.
