Zusammenfassung: | "In Education Reform in Florida, sociologists and historians evaluate Governor Jeb Bush's nation-leading school reform policies since 1999. They examine the broad range of education policy changes enacted in Florida during Bush's first term, including moves toward privatization with a voucher system, more government control of public education institutions with centralized accountability mechanisms, and a "superboard" for all public education. The contributors arrive at mixed conclusions regarding Bush's first-term education policies: while he deserves credit for holding students to higher standards, his policies have, unfortunately, pushed for equality in a very narrow way. The contributors themselves remain skeptical about seeing significant and sweeping improvement in how well Florida schools work for all students."--Jacket |

The contributors themselves remain skeptical about seeing significant and sweeping improvement in how well Florida schools work for all students."--Jacket</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="546" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">English.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="0"><subfield code="a">Education and state</subfield><subfield code="z">Florida.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="0"><subfield code="a">Educational change</subfield><subfield code="z">Florida.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="6"><subfield code="a">Éducation</subfield><subfield code="x">Politique gouvernementale</subfield><subfield code="z">Floride.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="6"><subfield code="a">Enseignement</subfield><subfield code="x">Réforme</subfield><subfield code="z">Floride.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">EDUCATION</subfield><subfield code="x">Educational Policy & Reform</subfield><subfield code="x">General.</subfield><subfield code="2">bisacsh</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">EDUCATION</subfield><subfield code="x">Administration</subfield><subfield code="x">General.</subfield><subfield code="2">bisacsh</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Education and state</subfield><subfield code="2">fast</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Educational change</subfield><subfield code="2">fast</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="651" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Florida</subfield><subfield code="2">fast</subfield><subfield code="1">https://id.oclc.org/worldcat/entity/E39QbtfRBghXPwB89fbdFYcHbM</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="700" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Borman, Kathryn M.</subfield><subfield code="0">http://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/n82090576</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="700" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Dorn, Sherman.</subfield><subfield code="0">http://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/n95104620</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="758" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="i">has work:</subfield><subfield code="a">Education reform in Florida (Text)</subfield><subfield code="1">https://id.oclc.org/worldcat/entity/E39PCGh8vG7XmBK7w3MXWHfT9C</subfield><subfield code="4">https://id.oclc.org/worldcat/ontology/hasWork</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="776" ind1="0" ind2="8"><subfield code="i">Print version:</subfield><subfield code="t">Education reform in Florida.</subfield><subfield code="d">Albany : State University of New York Press, ©2007</subfield><subfield code="z">0791469832</subfield><subfield code="z">9780791469835</subfield><subfield code="w">(DLC) 2006007121</subfield><subfield code="w">(OCoLC)64592010</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="856" ind1="4" ind2="0"><subfield code="l">FWS01</subfield><subfield code="p">ZDB-4-EBA</subfield><subfield code="q">FWS_PDA_EBA</subfield><subfield code="u">https://search.ebscohost.com/login.aspx?direct=true&scope=site&db=nlebk&AN=193020</subfield><subfield code="3">Volltext</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="938" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">EBL - Ebook Library</subfield><subfield code="b">EBLB</subfield><subfield code="n">EBL3407489</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="938" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">ebrary</subfield><subfield code="b">EBRY</subfield><subfield code="n">ebr10575915</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="938" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">EBSCOhost</subfield><subfield code="b">EBSC</subfield><subfield code="n">193020</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="938" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Project MUSE</subfield><subfield code="b">MUSE</subfield><subfield code="n">muse6494</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="938" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">YBP Library Services</subfield><subfield code="b">YANK</subfield><subfield code="n">9449890</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="938" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">YBP Library Services</subfield><subfield code="b">YANK</subfield><subfield code="n">2567345</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="938" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Internet Archive</subfield><subfield code="b">INAR</subfield><subfield code="n">educationreformi0000unse_e6x5</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="994" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">92</subfield><subfield code="b">GEBAY</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="912" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">ZDB-4-EBA</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="049" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">DE-863</subfield></datafield></record></collection> |

"In Education Reform in Florida, sociologists and historians evaluate Governor Jeb Bush's nation-leading school reform policies since 1999. The contributors themselves remain skeptical about seeing significant and sweeping improvement in how well Florida schools work for all students."--Jacket English. Education and state Florida.
