Zusammenfassung: | "Featuring both scholarly and autobiographical writings, Bearing Witness to Crime and Social Justice follows Richard Quinney's development as a criminologist. Quinney's criminology is a critical criminology which he describes as a journey of witnessing to crime and social justice. Quinney's travels from the 1960s through the 1990s show a progression of ways of thinking and acting: from the social constructionist perspective to phenomenology, from phenomenology to Marxist and critical philosophy, from Marxist and critical philosophy to liberation theology, from liberation theology to Buddhism and existentialism. Along this journey, Quinney adopts a more ethnographic and personal mode of thinking and being. Each new stage of development incorporates what has preceded it; each change has been motivated by the need to understand crime and social justice in another or more complex way, in a way excluded from a former understanding. Each stage has also incorporated changes that were taking place in Quinney's personal life. Ultimately, there is no separation between life and theory, between witnessing and writing."--Jacket |

Ultimately, there is no separation between life and theory, between witnessing and writing."--Jacket</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="0"><subfield code="a">Critical criminology.</subfield><subfield code="0">http://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/sh00002318</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="0"><subfield code="a">Crime.</subfield><subfield code="0">http://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/sh85033993</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="0"><subfield code="a">Social justice.</subfield><subfield code="0">http://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/sh85123969</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="2"><subfield code="a">Social Justice</subfield><subfield code="0">https://id.nlm.nih.gov/mesh/D012935</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="2"><subfield code="a">Crime</subfield><subfield code="0">https://id.nlm.nih.gov/mesh/D003415</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="6"><subfield code="a">Criminologie critique.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="6"><subfield code="a">Criminalité.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="6"><subfield code="a">Justice sociale.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">crimes (events)</subfield><subfield code="2">aat</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">SOCIAL SCIENCE</subfield><subfield code="x">Criminology.</subfield><subfield code="2">bisacsh</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Crime</subfield><subfield code="2">fast</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Critical criminology</subfield><subfield code="2">fast</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Social justice</subfield><subfield code="2">fast</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Kriminologie</subfield><subfield code="2">gnd</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Soziale Gerechtigkeit</subfield><subfield code="2">gnd</subfield><subfield code="0">http://d-nb.info/gnd/4236433-4</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1="1" ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Criminaliteit.</subfield><subfield code="2">gtt</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1="1" ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Sociale rechtvaardigheid.</subfield><subfield code="2">gtt</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1="1" ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Moraal.</subfield><subfield code="2">gtt</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="758" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="i">has work:</subfield><subfield code="a">Bearing witness to crime and social justice (Text)</subfield><subfield code="1">https://id.oclc.org/worldcat/entity/E39PD3kqbBTTyQG4FtwbPwYyYd</subfield><subfield code="4">https://id.oclc.org/worldcat/ontology/hasWork</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="776" ind1="0" ind2="8"><subfield code="i">Print version:</subfield><subfield code="a">Quinney, Richard.</subfield><subfield code="t">Bearing witness to crime and social justice.</subfield><subfield code="d">Albany : State University of New York Press, 2001</subfield><subfield code="z">0791447596</subfield><subfield code="w">(DLC) 00020270</subfield><subfield code="w">(OCoLC)43333481</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="830" ind1=" " ind2="0"><subfield code="a">SUNY series in deviance and social control.</subfield><subfield code="0">http://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/n86712009</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="856" ind1="4" ind2="0"><subfield code="l">FWS01</subfield><subfield code="p">ZDB-4-EBA</subfield><subfield code="q">FWS_PDA_EBA</subfield><subfield code="u">https://search.ebscohost.com/login.aspx?direct=true&scope=site&db=nlebk&AN=53216</subfield><subfield code="3">Volltext</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="936" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">BATCHLOAD</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="938" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">EBSCOhost</subfield><subfield code="b">EBSC</subfield><subfield code="n">53216</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="938" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">YBP Library Services</subfield><subfield code="b">YANK</subfield><subfield code="n">301924954</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="938" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">YBP Library Services</subfield><subfield code="b">YANK</subfield><subfield code="n">2324956</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="994" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">92</subfield><subfield code="b">GEBAY</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="912" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">ZDB-4-EBA</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="049" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">DE-863</subfield></datafield></record></collection> |

Print version record. "Featuring both scholarly and autobiographical writings, Bearing Witness to Crime and Social Justice follows Richard Quinney's development as a criminologist. Ultimately, there is no separation between life and theory, between witnessing and writing."--Jacket Critical criminology. http://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/sh00002318 Crime. http://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/sh85033993 Social justice. http://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/sh85123969 Social Justice https://id.nlm.nih.gov/mesh/D012935 Crime https://id.nlm.nih.gov/mesh/D003415 Criminologie critique.
