Dazu erarbeitet die Autorin die erforderlichen naturwissenschaftlichen Grundlagen und analysiert den Rechtsstatus von bioartifiziellem Organersatz. Zudem werden die Anforderungen an die Organersatzherstellung unter Beachtung des EU-Kommissionsvorschlags für eine SoHO-Verordnung untersucht. Anschließend widmet sich die Arbeit den Anforderungen an Zulassung und klinische Prüfung von bioartifiziellem Organersatz unter besonderer Berücksichtigung placebo-chirurgischer Kontrollen. Schließlich werden die Anforderungen an die Transplantation des Organersatzes näher beleuchtet.
