The Poetic Research Bureau, represented by Joseph Mosconi, was invited to hold a semester-long residency on fandom and art in close relation to self-publishing: "The concepts of ‘the fan,’ ‘the amateur’ and the ‘self-published writer’ have often been denigrated and ridiculed in popular culture and the mass media. ... In this context, Mosconi hosted a workshop with students to create print-on-demand books on the subject. BFF/PRB #1 is the first in a series of five, produced by Mosconi himself. It consists of "lecture notes, textual ephemera, poor images, juvenilia, rejected poems and outtakes" and served as "a moodboard and skeleton-key for Mosconi’s forthcoming book Ashen Folk" (blurb on Blurb). ... |
