Zusammenfassung:For the first time a book deals with telecommunications during the Asia Minor Campaign 1919-1922. The result of a thorough investigation in the archives of the Army History Directorate and in other individual sources, even in Turkish ones, which brought to light, among other things, the war diaries and reports of the activities of the Telegraph Units. The author, based on these documents, outlines the development, organization and potential of the Greek Military Telegraph Service. The text describes, in an understandable way, the telecommunication materials and cryptographic means of the time. After a brief review of their participation in previous military engagements, the text traces the activities of the Telegraphers at each time period of the Campaign, fully documents their participation in military operations, and reveals hitherto unknown parameters related to the conduct of operations. It highlights their neglected work in creating infrastructure in the cities of Ionia, during the periods of war inaction, and lists in a special chapter the interception of communications by all the belligerents, underlining the role they played in political and military developments.
