Zusammenfassung: | "How do we think about children's and young adult literature? Children's literature is often defined through audience, so what happens when children are drawn to and claim genres not built expressly "for" them? To what extent do canonical formations tend to overwrite or obscure less visible efforts to create and promote material for the young? These are the driving questions of Alt Kid Lit: What Children's Literature Might Be. Contributors to the volume offer theoretical meditations on the category of children's and young adult literature as well as case studies of materials that complicate our understanding of such. Chapters attend to a diverse array of subjects including the "non-places" of children's literature; child mediums; Black theater for children; children's interpretive drawings; fanfiction; Latinx, Indigenous, and silkpunk speculative fiction; environmental zines; shoÌ⁴nen anime; Jim Henson's The Dark Crystal; South Asian television; and "emergency children's literature." The book also features interviews with two experimental writers about genre and alt-publishing and a roundtable conversation on video games and children's digital engagements. Building on diverse approaches including queer theory and postcolonial studies, Alt Kid Lit shines light on materials, methodologies, and epistemologies that are sometimes underacknowledged in the field of children's and young adult literature studies"-- |

"How do we think about children's and young adult literature? Building on diverse approaches including queer theory and postcolonial studies, Alt Kid Lit shines light on materials, methodologies, and epistemologies that are sometimes underacknowledged in the field of children's and young adult literature studies"-- Fan-Fiction (DE-588)1125039019 gnd rswk-swf Neue Medien (DE-588)4196910-8 gnd rswk-swf Kinderliteratur (DE-588)4073409-2 gnd rswk-swf Aktivismus Motiv (DE-588)1054049661 gnd rswk-swf Alternative (DE-588)4138905-0 gnd rswk-swf Trivialliteratur (DE-588)4060946-7 gnd rswk-swf Kindermedien (DE-588)4195325-3 gnd rswk-swf Videospiel (DE-588)4063465-6 gnd rswk-swf Kanon (DE-588)4131583-2 gnd rswk-swf Fernsehen (DE-588)4016825-6 gnd rswk-swf Indigenes Volk Motiv (DE-588)4236450-4 gnd rswk-swf Rezipient (DE-588)4177969-1 gnd rswk-swf Spiritualismus Motiv (DE-588)1093889292 gnd rswk-swf Kind (DE-588)4030550-8 gnd rswk-swf LGBT Motiv (DE-588)1058351885 gnd rswk-swf Person of Color Motiv (DE-588)4440429-3 gnd rswk-swf Anime (DE-588)1041601824 gnd rswk-swf Children's literature / History and criticism Young adult literature / History and criticism Gender identity in children / Juvenile literature Queer theory / Juvenile literature Identity (Philosophical concept) / Juvenile literature (DE-588)4143413-4 Aufsatzsammlung gnd-content Kinderliteratur (DE-588)4073409-2 s Kanon (DE-588)4131583-2 s Kind (DE-588)4030550-8 s Rezipient (DE-588)4177969-1 s DE-604 Kindermedien (DE-588)4195325-3 s Alternative (DE-588)4138905-0 s Trivialliteratur (DE-588)4060946-7 s Anime (DE-588)1041601824 s Videospiel (DE-588)4063465-6 s Fernsehen (DE-588)4016825-6 s Neue Medien (DE-588)4196910-8 s Fan-Fiction (DE-588)1125039019 s Spiritualismus Motiv (DE-588)1093889292 s Aktivismus Motiv (DE-588)1054049661 s LGBT Motiv (DE-588)1058351885 s Indigenes Volk Motiv (DE-588)4236450-4 s Person of Color Motiv (DE-588)4440429-3 s Kidd, Kenneth B. 1966- (DE-588)1014451728 edt Mason, Derritt (DE-588)1200603753 edt Erscheint auch als Online-Ausgabe 978-1-4968-5107-9 |
