Xiaoxi puts his cotton shoes into the footprints and "walks" with his parents every day; when the ice and snow melt, he scattersd wild chrysanthemum seeds in the footprints and marks them with stones; after a spring rain, Xiaoxi recites ancient poems for each wild chrysanthemum seed, silently looking forward to the return of his parents.
Xue Tao, a famous writer of children's literature, was born in Changtu County, Liaoning Province in March 1971. He has worked as a teacher and newspaper editor. He currently works for the Liaoning Writers Association and is a national first-class writer and a member of the Children's Literature Committee of the China Writers Association. His major works include the collections of short and medium-length novels "The Girl Flying with Dandelions", "Botanical Garden at Noon", and "Moonlight Cinema at My Home", and dozens of medium-length novels such as "Paopao'er Goes on a Trip", "Fighting Japanese Devils in the Mountains", "Glaciers in September", "Small City", and "White Milky Way". His works have won the Chen Bochui International Children's Literature Award, the Bing Xin Children's Literature New Works Award, the Song Qingling Children's Literature Award, the China Writers Association National Outstanding Children's Literature Award, the Ministry of Culture Dandelion Award, and other awards. They have also been selected into many textbooks and translated overseas.
