Zusammenfassung: | "Metabolomics has been the fastest developing application of chemometrics over the past decade. Although there are a significant number of packages, workshops, and published research papers in this area, there is currently no integrated textbook. Thus, this text is primarily concerned with so-called untargeted metabolomic data which the majority of chemometrics and data processing literature and reviews in this area relate to. What this book aims to be is an introduction to the chemometrics analysis of metabolomic data -- it won't move into more specialist methods often advocated by specific groups or companies. A decade ago most metabolomic datasets were not public domain and retained by sponsors, but over the last ten years developments have created the ethos and practice of open data'. Through this have emerged a few databases of public domain datasets, and investigators are willing to donate good data. A fundamental aspect of this text will be to illustrate the use of chemometrics methods to such data, which will be made available to the reader on a companion website, in Excel or Matlab mat files. The resultant reduced data and graphs will be part of the book, with the raw data posted, in full, on the accompanying website. Appendices will provide descriptions of applying R and Matlab for metabolomic data analysis."-- |
