Zusammenfassung:Maksymilian Goldberg was one of most important interwar architects active in Warsaw. Together with Hipolit Rutkowski, he successfully participated in several architectural competitions, mainly concerning designs for residential buildings and interiors. He was involved in organisational and social activities in the architectural milieu as a co-organiser and active member of the Association of Polish Architects (SAP) and Association of Architects of the Republic of Poland (SARP), as well as the Building Advisory Service, a body that provided services to less affluent clients, instituted by architects associated with the monthly magazine "Dom – Osiedle – Mieszkanie". He was also a theoretician of architecture, whose mostly unpublished theoretical concepts inspired the ideas contained in Bohdan Lachert’s treatise Rozważania o niektórych cechach twórczości architektonicznej (1960). The article outlines Goldberg’s oeuvre, primarily in design but also in theoretical concepts, which despite its richness still awaits monographic study and proper evaluation.
