In addition to an introduction and a conclusion, the book is made of three parts. Part One focuses on Arabic sounds and sound systems, referred to in linguistics as phonetics and phonology. Part Two deals with Arabic words and word structure, or morphology. Part Three focuses on Arabic phrases and phrase structure, also known as syntax. Each part is divided into four chapters.
