Zusammenfassung: | "Focused on three Egyptian revolutions - in 1919, 1952, and 2011 - this edited book argues that each of these revolutions is a milestone which represents a meaningful turning point in modern Egyptian history. Revolutions are typically characterized by a fundamental change in political and social infrastructures as well as in the establishment of new values and norms. However, it should be noted that this may not be entirely applicable when examining the context of the three Egyptian revolutions: the 1919 revolution failed to liberate Egypt from British colonial hegemony; the 1952 revolution failed to rework the country's social and economic systems and unify the Arab world; and the "Arab Spring" revolution of 2011 culminated in a chaotic economic and social catastrophe, thus failing to solve the young generation's crisis. Nevertheless, by revisiting and re-defining these revolutions through diverse theoretical frameworks, the book proposes that each of them played a significant role in shaping Egypt's political, social and cultural identity. This book is specifically of interest for students, historians and social scientists with a keen interest in Egyptian history and the Middle East, offering fresh perspectives and insights into these transformative moments in Egypt's history"-- |

Rosenbaum -- Young Egyptians Conquer the Public Sphere of Taḥrīr Square, Reshaping Egyptian Collective Memory and identity through Graffiti / Mira Tzoreff "Focused on three Egyptian revolutions - in 1919, 1952, and 2011 - this edited book argues that each of these revolutions is a milestone which represents a meaningful turning point in modern Egyptian history. This book is specifically of interest for students, historians and social scientists with a keen interest in Egyptian history and the Middle East, offering fresh perspectives and insights into these transformative moments in Egypt's history"-- Geschichte 1919-2020 gnd rswk-swf Ägypten Revolution 1952 (DE-588)4325282-5 gnd rswk-swf Ägypten Revolution 1919 (DE-588)4722268-2 gnd rswk-swf Arabischer Frühling (DE-588)102321377X gnd rswk-swf Egypt / Civilization / 20th century Egypt / Civilization / 21st century Arab Spring, 2010- Egypt / History / Revolution, 1952 Egypt / History / Insurrection, 1919 Egypt / Politics and government / 1919-1952 Egypt / Social condtions / 20th century Egypt / Social condtions / 21st century Égypte / Civilisation / 20e siècle Égypte / Civilisation / 21e siècle Printemps arabe, 2010-2011 Égypte / Histoire / 1952 (Révolution) Égypte / Histoire / 1919 (Insurrection) Égypte / Politique et gouvernement / 1919-1952 Civilization Politics and government Egypt Since 1900 History (DE-588)4143413-4 Aufsatzsammlung gnd-content Ägypten Revolution 1919 (DE-588)4722268-2 s Ägypten Revolution 1952 (DE-588)4325282-5 s Arabischer Frühling (DE-588)102321377X s Geschichte 1919-2020 z DE-604 Rabi, ʿUzi 1957- (DE-588)1137873981 edt Tzoreff, Mira edt Online version 978-1-003-35158-0 From the 1919 Revolution to the 2011 Arab Spring London : New York : Routledge, 2024 Routledge studies in Middle Eastern politics 123 (DE-604)BV022309254 123 |
