For historical and social reasons, artistic activity is acknowledged as vocational. However, this modern legacy appears to be questioned by the contemporary art world, including from a critical standpoint. In the light of these transformations, the aim is to examine the relevance of the concept of vocation as an analytical grid and, thus, to propose lines of thought with the intention of updating the tools and methods of art sociology. |
