Zusammenfassung: | "Perverse Memory and the Holocaust presents a new theoretical approach to the study of Polish memory bystanders of the Holocaust. Drawing on psychoanalytic theory, it examines representations of the Holocaust in order to explore the perverse mechanisms of memory at work, in which surface a series of phenomena difficult to remember: the pleasure derived from witnessing scenes of violence, identification with the German perpetrators of violence, the powerful fear of revenge at the hands of Jewish victims, and the adoption of the position of genocide victims. Moving away from the focus of previous psychoanalytic studies of memory on questions of mourning, melancholy, repressed memory, and loss, this volume considers the transformation of the collective identity of those who remained in the space of past Holocaust events: bystanders, who partook in the events and benefited from the extermination of the Jews. A critique of 'perverse memory' that hampers attempts to work through what is remembered, this book will be of interest to scholars across the social sciences working in the fields of Holocaust studies, memory studies, psychoanalytic studies and cultural studies"-- |

A critique of 'perverse memory' that hampers attempts to work through what is remembered, this book will be of interest to scholars across the social sciences working in the fields of Holocaust studies, memory studies, psychoanalytic studies and cultural studies"--</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="648" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Geschichte</subfield><subfield code="2">gnd</subfield><subfield code="9">rswk-swf</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1="0" ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Judenvernichtung</subfield><subfield code="g">Motiv</subfield><subfield code="0">(DE-588)4122228-3</subfield><subfield code="2">gnd</subfield><subfield code="9">rswk-swf</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1="0" ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Kollektives Gedächtnis</subfield><subfield code="0">(DE-588)4200793-8</subfield><subfield code="2">gnd</subfield><subfield code="9">rswk-swf</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1="0" ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Zuschauer</subfield><subfield code="0">(DE-588)4127324-2</subfield><subfield code="2">gnd</subfield><subfield code="9">rswk-swf</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="651" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Polen</subfield><subfield code="0">(DE-588)4046496-9</subfield><subfield code="2">gnd</subfield><subfield code="9">rswk-swf</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="653" ind1=" " ind2="0"><subfield code="a">Holocaust, Jewish (1939-1945) / Poland</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="653" ind1=" " ind2="0"><subfield code="a">Bystander effect / Poland</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="653" ind1=" " ind2="0"><subfield code="a">Memory / Poland</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="653" ind1=" " ind2="2"><subfield code="a">Poland / History / 1918-1945 / Historiography</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="653" ind1=" " ind2="0"><subfield code="a">Effet du témoin / Pologne</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="653" ind1=" " ind2="2"><subfield code="a">Pologne / Histoire / 1918-1945 / Historiographie</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="653" ind1=" " ind2="0"><subfield code="a">Bystander effect</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="653" ind1=" " ind2="0"><subfield code="a">Historiography</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="653" ind1=" " ind2="0"><subfield code="a">Memory</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="653" ind1=" " ind2="2"><subfield code="a">Poland</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="653" ind1=" " ind2="4"><subfield code="a">1918-1945</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="653" ind1=" " ind2="6"><subfield code="a">History</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="689" ind1="0" ind2="0"><subfield code="a">Polen</subfield><subfield code="0">(DE-588)4046496-9</subfield><subfield code="D">g</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="689" ind1="0" ind2="1"><subfield code="a">Judenvernichtung</subfield><subfield code="g">Motiv</subfield><subfield code="0">(DE-588)4122228-3</subfield><subfield code="D">s</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="689" ind1="0" ind2="2"><subfield code="a">Zuschauer</subfield><subfield code="0">(DE-588)4127324-2</subfield><subfield code="D">s</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="689" ind1="0" ind2="3"><subfield code="a">Kollektives Gedächtnis</subfield><subfield code="0">(DE-588)4200793-8</subfield><subfield code="D">s</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="689" ind1="0" ind2="4"><subfield code="a">Geschichte</subfield><subfield code="A">z</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="689" ind1="0" ind2=" "><subfield code="5">DE-604</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="700" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Gołubiewski, Mikołaj</subfield><subfield code="d">1985-</subfield><subfield code="0">(DE-588)1169408842</subfield><subfield code="4">trl</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="776" ind1="0" ind2="8"><subfield code="i">Online version</subfield><subfield code="z">978-1-003-33003-5</subfield><subfield code="a">Borowicz, Jan, 1987-</subfield><subfield code="t">Perverse memory and the holocaust</subfield><subfield code="d">Abingdon, Oxon ; Drawing on psychoanalytic theory, it examines representations of the Holocaust in order to explore the perverse mechanisms of memory at work, in which surface a series of phenomena difficult to remember: the pleasure derived from witnessing scenes of violence, identification with the German perpetrators of violence, the powerful fear of revenge at the hands of Jewish victims, and the adoption of the position of genocide victims. A critique of 'perverse memory' that hampers attempts to work through what is remembered, this book will be of interest to scholars across the social sciences working in the fields of Holocaust studies, memory studies, psychoanalytic studies and cultural studies"-- Geschichte gnd rswk-swf Judenvernichtung Motiv (DE-588)4122228-3 gnd rswk-swf Kollektives Gedächtnis (DE-588)4200793-8 gnd rswk-swf Zuschauer (DE-588)4127324-2 gnd rswk-swf Polen (DE-588)4046496-9 gnd rswk-swf Holocaust, Jewish (1939-1945) / Poland Bystander effect / Poland Memory / Poland Poland / History / 1918-1945 / Historiography Effet du témoin / Pologne Pologne / Histoire / 1918-1945 / Historiographie Bystander effect Historiography Memory Poland 1918-1945 History Polen (DE-588)4046496-9 g Judenvernichtung Motiv (DE-588)4122228-3 s Zuschauer (DE-588)4127324-2 s Kollektives Gedächtnis (DE-588)4200793-8 s Geschichte z DE-604 Gołubiewski, Mikołaj 1985- (DE-588)1169408842 trl Online version 978-1-003-33003-5 Borowicz, Jan, 1987- Perverse memory and the holocaust Abingdon, Oxon ; New York, NY : Routledge, 2024 Memory Studies: Global Constellations 27 (DE-604)BV046279385 27 Digitalisierung BSB München - ADAM Catalogue Enrichment application/pdf http://bvbr.bib-bvb.de:8991/F?func=service&doc_library=BVB01&local_base=BVB01&doc_number=035025157&sequence=000001&line_number=0001&func_code=DB_RECORDS&service_type=MEDIA Inhaltsverzeichnis Digitalisierung BSB München - ADAM Catalogue Enrichment application/pdf http://bvbr.bib-bvb.de:8991/F?func=service&doc_library=BVB01&local_base=BVB01&doc_number=035025157&sequence=000003&line_number=0002&func_code=DB_RECORDS&service_type=MEDIA Register // Gemischte Register |
