Zusammenfassung: | The writers and designers in this collection are among the most thoughtful architects, artists, landscape architects, and theorists working today. The editors organized these essays and works of art and design around three territories: the atmospheric, the biologic, and the geologic. Each cluster of essays is further framed by forewords and afterwords, which draw individual points of view into a larger articulation of what an ambiguous territory might be and how it operates. Ambiguous Territory emerged from a symposium and exhibition held at the University of Michigan in the fall of 2017, and exhibitions at the University of Virginia and Pratt Manhattan Gallery in 2018, and at Ithaca College in 2019. The conversations that arise in this book are inquisitive and critically engaged. They pressure assumptions we routinely make about what constitutes meaningful and principled perspectives in architecture, landscape architecture, and art. Both the texts and the work take on some of the trickiest issues of our time. - Excerpt from a foreword to the book by Catherine Ingraham, Professor, Graduate Architecture and Urban Design, Pratt Institute |

spelling | Ambiguous territory architecture, landscape and the postnatural edited by Cathryn Dwyre, Chris Perry, David Salomon, Kathy Velikov ; foreword by Catherine Ingraham ; afterword by Peder Anker Architecture, landscape and the postnatural New York Actar Publishers 2022 1 Online-Ressource (321 Seiten) Illustrationen txt rdacontent sti rdacontent c rdamedia cr rdacarrier Vortitelblatt: Produced in association with the traveling exhibition "Ambiguous Territory: Architecture, Landscape, and the Postnatural": September 27-October 18, 2017: University of Michigan Taubman College Gallery, Ann Arbor, MI; September 10-October 5, 2018: University of Virginia Elmaleh Gallery, Charlottesville, VA; December 6, 2018-February 15, 2019: Pratt Manhattan Gallery, New York, NY; August 28 - December 15, 2019: Ithaca College Handwerker Gallery, Ithaca, NY The writers and designers in this collection are among the most thoughtful architects, artists, landscape architects, and theorists working today. - Excerpt from a foreword to the book by Catherine Ingraham, Professor, Graduate Architecture and Urban Design, Pratt Institute Natur (DE-588)4041358-5 gnd rswk-swf Geologie (DE-588)4020227-6 gnd rswk-swf Kunst (DE-588)4114333-4 gnd rswk-swf Landschaftsarchitektur (DE-588)7700528-4 gnd rswk-swf Architektur (DE-588)4002851-3 gnd rswk-swf Biologie (DE-588)4006851-1 gnd rswk-swf Architecture and society / Exhibitions Architecture, Modern / 21st century / Exhibitions Architecture / Environmental aspects / Exhibitions Architecture / Human factors / Exhibitions Perspective / Exhibitions Architecture et société / Expositions Architecture / 21e siècle / Expositions Architecture / Aspect de l'environnement / Expositions Architecture / Facteurs humains / Expositions Perspective / Expositions Architecture and society Architecture / Environmental aspects Architecture / Human factors Architecture, Modern Perspective 2000-2099 Exhibition catalogs (DE-588)4135467-9 Ausstellungskatalog University of Michigan Taubman College Gallery 27.09.2017-18.10.2017 Ann Arbor, Mich. gnd-content (DE-588)4135467-9 Ausstellungskatalog University of Virginia Elmaleh Gallery 10.09.2018-05.10.2018 Charlottesville, Va. gnd-content (DE-588)4135467-9 Ausstellungskatalog Pratt Manhattan Gallery 06.12.2018-15.02.2019 New York, NY gnd-content (DE-588)4135467-9 Ausstellungskatalog Ithaca College Handwerker Gallery 28.08.2019-15.12.2019 Ithaca, NY gnd-content Kunst (DE-588)4114333-4 s Architektur (DE-588)4002851-3 s Landschaftsarchitektur (DE-588)7700528-4 s Natur (DE-588)4041358-5 s Biologie (DE-588)4006851-1 s Geologie (DE-588)4020227-6 s DE-604 Dwyre, Cathryn (DE-588)1273241266 edt Perry, Chris 1970- (DE-588)125855092X edt Salomon, David L.
