Summary Summary On 25th-26th October 2019, the 5th Historical Silesian Forum/ Conference took place in the Mission House of the Good She pherd among the Divine Word Society, which attracted a lar ge group of participants intrested in the subject. This time the meeting concentarted on The Orders in Silesia. Since the ear ly medieval times, the presence of orders in Salesia has been a strong inspiration not only for the religious development of our region but also the economic and cultural development. All the presentations given by competent delegates recognised this diversity of influences coming from different orders and having its impression on the lives of a variety of the people then. These influences were significant to such areas of social life as agriculture, education, healthcare, and the care of the poor and the disabled through widespread acts of mercy. Their life testimony based on Christian spirituality and their chari smatic work spanned hundreds of years. The first presentation, which was delivered by Fr. Rev Bp. Prof. Jan Kopiec, an excellent expert in the field, an academic lecturer, was a good introduction to the overall meeting. The delegate showed the diversity of consecrated life in the history of the church in Silesia. The second presentation entitled Do minicans in Silesia was given by Fr. Rev PhD Kazimierz Dola who is also an academic lecturer. He described the charism of dominicans and the works of their life in Silesia. The next paper Regular Canons in Silesia was discussed by Cyprian Tkacz BA. This order was particularly connected with the mi
ni-region called ‘ziemia oleska’ by caring for its religious life. After that, Sister Margarita Cebula MA of Elizabethan Order painted a picture of the activity of female orders in Silesia over the centuries. It was a very interesting presentation. The or der that marked the history of Silesia and strongly influenced 281
Zakony na Śląsku the Silesian culture was the Cistercian Order. A paper on the subject of Cistercians and Their Monasteries in Silesia was presented by an academic lecturer Fr. Rev Franciszek Wolnik. Franciscans also played an imporant role in the religious life of Silesians. A franciscan delegate Fr. Rev PhD Błażej Kurowski discussed Friars Minor in the History of Silesia. Fr. Rev PhD Henryk Kałuża, an academic lecturer, was the last to make his presentation on Norbertan Brothers and Sisters in Silesia. Following each presentation, there was a time for questions and a discussion which enriched the meeting by expanding the givien topic. All the papers as well as additional free studies about the history of Silesia are compiled now in another pu blication on the Silesian subject matter. The popular interest in the history of this region is increasing, which can be observed with each meeting and the search for the relevant publications as a direct result of historical conferences in Nysa. An added bonus of these conferences is an opportunity to meet other pe ople and enjoy them together along with developing mutual relationships. Streszczenie Streszczenie W dniach 25-26 października 2019 roku, w Domu Misyjnym Dobrego Pasterza u Księży Werbistów odbyło się V Historycz ne Forum Śląskie, w którym wzięła udział liczna grupa sym patyków i osób zainteresowanych. Tym razem tematem spo tkania były „Zakony na Śląsku”. Ich obecność na tej ziemi już od wczesnego średniowiecza była wielką inspiracją nie tylko w rozwoju religijnym na Śląsku, ale także w rozwoju gospo darczym i kulturalnym. Referaty wygłoszone przez kompe tentnych prelegentów ukazywały wielkie bogactwo wpływów poszczególnych zakonów na życie ludzi różnych warstw spo łecznych na tej ziemi. Wpływy te miały duże znaczenie dla ta kich dziedzin życia jak: rolnictwo, szkolnictwo, szpitalnictwo, jak również opieka nad ubogimi i niepełnosprawnymi poprzez szeroko zakrojone dzieła miłosierdzia. Ich świadectwo życia, oparte na duchowości chrześcijańskiej, jak też ich praca zwią zana z określonym charyzmatem trwały przez setki lat. Pierwszy referat, który był dobrym wprowadzeniem w ca łość spotkania, przedstawił ks. bp prof. Jan Kopiec, doskonały znawca tematu, wykładowca uniwersytecki. Autor ukazał bo gactwo życia konsekrowanego w dziejach Kościoła na Śląsku. Drugi referat, którego tytuł brzmiał „Dominikanie na Śląsku”, wygłosił ks. prof. Kazimierz Dola, również wykładowca aka demicki. Prelegent przedstawił charyzmat dominikanów oraz całokształt życia tego zakonu na Śląsku. Następny referat miał tytuł „Kanonicy regularni na ziemiach śląskich”, a przedstawił go mgr lic. Cyprian Tkacz. Ten zakon był związany szczegól nie z ziemią oleską, gdzie
dbał o życie religijne tego miniregionu. Kolejny referat wygłosiła s. mgr Margarita Cebula, elżbietanka, która przedstawiła zebranym obraz działalności zakonów żeńskich na Śląsku na przestrzeni wieków. To było interesujące wystąpienie. Wielki wpływ na kulturę ludu ślą279
Zakony na Śląsku skiego mieli cystersi - zakon, który pozostawił głęboki ślad w dziejach ziemi śląskiej. Na ich temat referat wygłosił ks. prof. Franciszek Wolnik, wykładowca uniwersytecki, a tytuł referatu brzmiał „Cystersi i ich klasztory na Śląsku”. Wielkie znaczenie dla życia religijnego ludu śląskiego odegrali fran ciszkanie. Reprezentant tego zakonu o. dr Błażej Kurowski wystąpił z referatem „Bracia mniejsi w dziejach Śląska”. Jako ostatni wystąpił o. dr Henryk Kałuża, wykładowca uniwer sytecki, który przedstawił temat „Norbertanie i norbertanki na Śląsku”. Po każdym wystąpieniu był czas na zadawanie pytań oraz na dyskusję, co jeszcze bardziej ubogacało spotkanie i pozwo liło na poszerzenie treści prezentowanego tematu. Wszystkie referaty, jak również dodatkowe luźne opracowania dotyczące dziejów ziemi śląskiej znajdują miejsce w kolejnej już publi kacji dotyczącej tematyki śląskiej. Zainteresowanie dziejami tego regionu wzrasta, co widać wyraźnie przy każdym kolej nym spotkaniu, jak również mając na uwadze zainteresowa nie opracowaniami książkowymi będącymi owocem spotkań historycznych w Nysie. Osobnym źródłem ubogacenia jest wspólne przeżywanie tych spotkań oraz pogłębianie wzajem nych więzi.
