Zusammenfassung:The volume presents the unique collection of the stone carving and grinding school that once operated in the small Transylvanian mining town of Zalatna. In 2014, a fragmentary collection of plaster casts and stone carvings was unearthed from the attic of the school's building. During the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy, the industry of the Transylvanian Ore Mountains reached a significant wave of modernization compared to the slow development of the previous centuries, one of the symbols of which became this state-founded institution. Within its walls, in addition to the training of stone carvers, a special, double-profile education developed with the introduction of a new applied art object, stone grinding. The objects in this volume are witnesses to the activities of the stonemasonry workshop. The Zlatna collection is the only known collection of architectural and sculptural carvings in historical Hungary, which collected unique versions of ornaments familiar from the architectural stock of the period
