Zusammenfassung: | The volume considers the relationship between contemporary art and the economy from art theoretical and philosophical perspectives. The eponymous term »equivalence« draws on three main sources: firstly, it refers to the 18th-century notion of the aesthetic and the arts as a social field in which the equality of people is not simply a postulate but can be directly felt and perceived; secondly, it builds on the Marxian definition of the »equivalent form« as universal exchangeability of commodities according to a purely quantitative principle; the third aspect of »equivalence« significant for the book concerns media and infrastructures enabling the digital and physical replication and circulation of images and objects. With regard to particular artworks, the volume’s focus is not on content-driven approaches dealing with the flux of goods, information, individuals and capital in a documentary way. Rather, the publication focuses on works whose materiality, form and structure highlight the changed technological, economic and social conditions of art production and reception in an economic field |

spelling | Aesthetics of equivalence art in capitalism edited by Simon Baier, Markus Klammer First edition Berlin August Verlag 2023 140 Seiten 180 cm x 110 cm txt rdacontent n rdamedia nc rdacarrier August Akademie The volume considers the relationship between contemporary art and the economy from art theoretical and philosophical perspectives. Rather, the publication focuses on works whose materiality, form and structure highlight the changed technological, economic and social conditions of art production and reception in an economic field Rezeption (DE-588)4049716-1 gnd rswk-swf Wirtschaft (DE-588)4066399-1 gnd rswk-swf Gleichheit (DE-588)4021231-2 gnd rswk-swf Kunst (DE-588)4114333-4 gnd rswk-swf Ästhetik (DE-588)4000626-8 gnd rswk-swf Kapitalismus (DE-588)4029577-1 gnd rswk-swf Geld Money Zirkulationssphäre Kunstmarkt Marx Kapitalismus Kapitalismuskritik Künstlerische Praktiken Art Art World Theory Kunsttheorie Kunstgeschichte (DE-588)4143413-4 Aufsatzsammlung gnd-content Kunst (DE-588)4114333-4 s Kapitalismus (DE-588)4029577-1 s Ästhetik (DE-588)4000626-8 s DE-604 Wirtschaft (DE-588)4066399-1 s Gleichheit (DE-588)4021231-2 s Rezeption (DE-588)4049716-1 s Baier, Simon 1979- (DE-588)1135426406 edt Klammer, Markus 1976- (DE-588)132283026 edt August Verlag (DE-588)1066115982 pbl DNB Datenaustausch application/pdf http://bvbr.bib-bvb.de:8991/F?func=service&doc_library=BVB01&local_base=BVB01&doc_number=034773850&sequence=000001&line_number=0001&func_code=DB_RECORDS&service_type=MEDIA Inhaltsverzeichnis 1\p vlb 20230428 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#vlb |
