Zusammenfassung: | This volume of the series "Key Concepts in Interreligious Discourses" investigates the roots of the concept of "soul" in Judaism, Christianity and Islam. The human soul fascinates not only believers in the three monotheistic faiths. Believing in an immortal entitiy, surpassing body, materia and their temporality and thus seeming to be closer to the creator that the mere body was and remains to be a vividly discussed theme in theological and practical debates. Even our secular, postreligious environment is unable to disengage from the key concept of the soul. Numerous proverbs, undefined concepts and hopes prove this fact. Asking for the soul means asking fundamental questions like life after death and therefor asking for one of the most fundamental and uniting hopes of human beings, be they secular or religious. The volume presents the concept of "soul" in its different aspects as anchored in the traditions of Judaism, Christianity and Islam. It unfolds commonalities and differences between the three monotheistic religions as well as the manifold discourses about peace within these three traditions. The book offers fundamental knowledge about the specific understanding of the soul in each one of these traditions, their interdependencies and their relationship to secular world views |

The book offers fundamental knowledge about the specific understanding of the soul in each one of these traditions, their interdependencies and their relationship to secular world views Judentum (DE-588)4114087-4 gnd rswk-swf Islam (DE-588)4027743-4 gnd rswk-swf Christentum (DE-588)4010074-1 gnd rswk-swf Seelenglaube (DE-588)4262009-0 gnd rswk-swf Begriff (DE-588)4005248-5 gnd rswk-swf Seele (DE-588)4054146-0 gnd rswk-swf Dialogue Interreligious discourse Soul Soul / Christianity Soul / Islam Soul / Judaism Dialog Diskurs Interreligiosität Seele (DE-588)1071861417 Konferenzschrift 2019 Eichstätt gnd-content Seele (DE-588)4054146-0 s Begriff (DE-588)4005248-5 s Judentum (DE-588)4114087-4 s Christentum (DE-588)4010074-1 s Islam (DE-588)4027743-4 s DE-604 Seelenglaube (DE-588)4262009-0 s Avery-Peck, Alan J. 1953- Sonstige (DE-588)121412458 oth Böttigheimer, Christoph 1960- Sonstige (DE-588)114275815 oth Widenka, Wenzel Maximilian Sonstige (DE-588)1190827824 oth Erscheint auch als Druck-Ausgabe 9783110748185 (DE-604)BV049094875 Key Concepts in Interreligious Discourses 11 (DE-604)BV044782242 11 https://doi.org/10.1515/9783110748239 Resolving-System Volltext https://www.degruyter.com/isbn/9783110748239 Verlag Volltext https://www.degruyter.com/document/cover/isbn/9783110748239/original Cover |
