Alfred Schlicht traces the region=s history, from discoveries of early human remains to the period of great-power rivalry, colonialism, and hopes for reconciliation in recent years. The very latest events are thus placed in a broader context historically and geographically, in a well-grounded and readable way. Die Staaten Äthiopien, Dschibuti, Eritrea und Somalia bilden zusammen das sogenannte Horn von Afrika an der Ostspitze des afrikanischen Kontinents. Kulturelle Vielfalt prägt diese Region, christliche und muslimische Einflüsse treffen aufeinander und zu Europa bestehen bereits seit der Antike enge Verbindungen. Um die Wende zum 21.
