Plain and easy instructions on the diseases of the bladder and urethra For the Use of persons afflicted therewith: as well as for young surgeons. In which is given, A description of the parts of generation in both Sexes, with some physiological and pathological observations on those of the female: wherein is explained upon new principles the different kinds of Gonorrhoeas as well in men as in women, with the true method of their cure, so as to prevent the fatal consequences of the disorders in the Urethra, known by the name of Carnosities and stoppage of urine, an exact demonstration of which forms the basis of this work; also the means of curing them by medicated candles or [Bougies], with a description of the reciprocal affinity between the diseases of the Urethra and those of the Bladder. Nothing herein is asserted but what is founded on the structure of the parts, supported by experience, and proved by authentic observations adapted to each precept. Besides which several interesting questions relative to the subject are resolved: and a vocabulary is added, in which the terms of art throughout the whole work are explained. By G. Arnaud, ancient member of the royal Academy of Surgery in Paris and member of the Society of Surgeons in London
