Zusammenfassung: | "When the men involved in the government of the states of Renaissance Italy explained the basis of the principles by which they argued that political life and the conduct of affairs were, or should be, shaped, "reason" and "experience" were what they most frequently cited. Sometimes they were cited separately, often together. When they were coupled together, they were treated as complementary to one another - as in the declaration in a Sienese decree of 1486 that: 'Reason shows and experience proves [La ragione demostra et la experientia prova]'. Reason, and ancient and modern examples, were what the Venetian Signoria told the Milanese ambassador in that year were the foundations of their thinking about relations with foreign powers. Reason and experience were never cited as contradicting one another. Experience provided examples to back up the conclusions of reason or, more often perhaps, provided the material on which reason could be put to work"-- |

Experience provided examples to back up the conclusions of reason or, more often perhaps, provided the material on which reason could be put to work"-- Erfahrung (DE-588)4015217-0 gnd rswk-swf Renaissance (DE-588)4049450-0 gnd rswk-swf Politik (DE-588)4046514-7 gnd rswk-swf Vernunft (DE-588)4063106-0 gnd rswk-swf Italien (DE-588)4027833-5 gnd rswk-swf Political culture / Italy / History Political participation / Italy / History Reason / Political aspects / Italy / History Experience / Italy / History Power (Social sciences) / Italy / History City-states / Italy / History Republicanism / Italy / History Italy / Politics and government / 1268-1559 Participation politique / Italie / Histoire Raison / Aspect politique / Italie / Histoire Expérience / Italie / Histoire Cités-États / Italie / Histoire Républicanisme / Italie / Histoire Italie / Politique et gouvernement / 1268-1559 HISTORY / Europe / General City-states Experience Political culture Political participation Politics and government Power (Social sciences) Reason / Political aspects Republicanism Italy 1268-1559 History Italien (DE-588)4027833-5 g Politik (DE-588)4046514-7 s Vernunft (DE-588)4063106-0 s Erfahrung (DE-588)4015217-0 s Renaissance (DE-588)4049450-0 s DE-604 ebook version 9781108962599 Digitalisierung BSB München - ADAM Catalogue Enrichment application/pdf http://bvbr.bib-bvb.de:8991/F?func=service&doc_library=BVB01&local_base=BVB01&doc_number=034326193&sequence=000001&line_number=0001&func_code=DB_RECORDS&service_type=MEDIA Inhaltsverzeichnis |
