| Zusammenfassung: | L’étude des nus photographiques de Lucien Clergue du milieu des années 1950 à la fin des années 1960 permet de questionner leur place et leur rôle dans l’entrée en art du photographe. Ses premiers nus méditerranéens se caractérisent par une prédilection pour des femmes sans tête : la nudité expose le modèle, anonyme, à une délectation érotique. En croisant deux problématiques (historique et représentationnelle), il devient possible de s’intéresser à la relation de pouvoir entre photographe et modèle et de mesurer l’invisibilisation de ce dernier dans les images et dans les processus d’institutionnalisation de la photographie d’auteur. L’attention accordée ici à la personne du modèle féminin et à l’érotisme des images soulève de nombreuses questions d’ordres à la fois théorique, historiographique et méthodologique. La déconstruction des images et des discours afférents permet de questionner l’approche du genre du nu chez Clergue à une période encore trop peu étudiée en histoire de la photographie. The study of Lucien Clergue’s photographic nudes from the mid-1950s to the late 1960s questions their place and role in the photographer’s inclusion into the art sphere around the same period. His first Mediterranean nudes characteristically represent headless women: such nudity appears to eroticize the therefore anonymized model. By adopting two intersecting perspectives (historical and representational), problematic power relationships between photographer and model come to light; in particular, the latter’s invisibilization both in the pictures and in the processes institutionalizing of the former’s work. Focusing our attention on the female model and on the eroticization of her image raises numerous questions of a theoretical, historiographical, and methodological nature. Through deconstructing images and discourses, the photographer’s approach of the nude genre during a still understudied period in the history of photography can be reassessed. |
