Zusammenfassung: | "This book is part of an ongoing transnational turn in cultural history. Studies on the history of urban popular culture and the entertainment industries increasingly engage with the European or global circulation of genres, actors, and shows, especially during the period of massive growth and expansion of the sector from the 1870s to the 1930s. Nevertheless, a large part of this research remains focused on exchanges between Western and Central European, and North American metropolises. To provide a fuller picture of the emergence and cross-border transfer of different genres of popular culture, this volume investigates Northern, East Central, and Southern European cities and their relations with each other and the West. The authors analyze the mediating agents, transnational networks, and local responses to new forms of entertainment from Madrid to Vyborg, and from Istanbul to Reykjavík. These examples re-focus the history of urban popular culture in Europe in view of multidirectional transfers and a wider range of regional experiences. Urban Popular Culture will appeal to researchers and students alike interested in the history of popular culture in modern societies, particularly those studying urban centers in Europe, and their transnational and transregional connections" |

Urban Popular Culture will appeal to researchers and students alike interested in the history of popular culture in modern societies, particularly those studying urban centers in Europe, and their transnational and transregional connections"</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="648" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Geschichte 1870-1939</subfield><subfield code="2">gnd</subfield><subfield spelling | Urban popular culture and entertainment experiences from Northern, East-Central, and Southern Europe, 1870s-1930s edited by Antje Dietze and Alexander Vari New York ; London Routledge, Taylor & Francis Group 2023 viii, 326 Seiten Illustrationen txt rdacontent n rdamedia nc rdacarrier Routledge studies in cultural history "This book is part of an ongoing transnational turn in cultural history. Urban Popular Culture will appeal to researchers and students alike interested in the history of popular culture in modern societies, particularly those studying urban centers in Europe, and their transnational and transregional connections" Geschichte 1870-1939 gnd rswk-swf Geschichte 1870-1930 gnd rswk-swf Unterhaltungsmusik (DE-588)4061916-3 gnd rswk-swf Kino (DE-588)4129654-0 gnd rswk-swf Kulturleben (DE-588)4126540-3 gnd rswk-swf Jazz (DE-588)4028532-7 gnd rswk-swf Theater (DE-588)4059702-7 gnd rswk-swf Stadt (DE-588)4056723-0 gnd rswk-swf Skandinavien (DE-588)4055209-3 gnd rswk-swf Südosteuropa (DE-588)4058449-5 gnd rswk-swf Ostmitteleuropa (DE-588)4075753-5 gnd rswk-swf Popular culture / Europe / History / 20th century Europe / Civilization / 20th century Popular music / Europe / 20th century Nightlife / Europe / History / 20th century City dwellers / Europe / Social life and customs / 20th century Civilization Nightlife Popular culture Popular music Europe 1900-1999 History (DE-588)4143413-4 Aufsatzsammlung gnd-content Skandinavien (DE-588)4055209-3 g Ostmitteleuropa (DE-588)4075753-5 g Südosteuropa (DE-588)4058449-5 g Stadt (DE-588)4056723-0 s Kulturleben (DE-588)4126540-3 s Kino (DE-588)4129654-0 s Theater (DE-588)4059702-7 s Unterhaltungsmusik (DE-588)4061916-3 s Jazz (DE-588)4028532-7 s Geschichte 1870-1939 z DE-604 Geschichte 1870-1930 z Dietze, Antje 1980- (DE-588)105979408X edt Vari, Alexander 1965- (DE-588)1293425494 edt Erscheint auch als Online-Ausgabe 978-1-00-324740-1 (DE-604)BV048814749 Digitalisierung BSB München - ADAM Catalogue Enrichment application/pdf http://bvbr.bib-bvb.de:8991/F?func=service&doc_library=BVB01&local_base=BVB01&doc_number=034143725&sequence=000001&line_number=0001&func_code=DB_RECORDS&service_type=MEDIA Inhaltsverzeichnis Digitalisierung BSB München - ADAM Catalogue Enrichment application/pdf http://bvbr.bib-bvb.de:8991/F?func=service&doc_library=BVB01&local_base=BVB01&doc_number=034143725&sequence=000003&line_number=0002&func_code=DB_RECORDS&service_type=MEDIA Register // Gemischte Register |
