Zusammenfassung: | "Taking into account the destructive powers of globalization, Making Worlds considers the interconnectedness of the world in the early modern period. This collection examines the interdisciplinary phenomenon of making worlds, with essays from scholars of history, literary studies, theatre and performance, art history, and anthropology. The volume advances questions about the history of globalization by focusing on how the expansion of global transit offered possibilities for interactions that included the testing of local identities through inventive experimentation with new and various forms of culture. Case studies show how the imposition of European economic, religious, political, and military models on other parts of the world unleashed unprecedented forces of invention as institutionalized powers came up against the creativity of peoples, cultural practices, materials, and techniques of making. In doing so, Making Worlds offers an important rethinking of how early globalization inconsistently generated ongoing dynamics of making, unmaking, and remaking worlds."-- |

In doing so, Making Worlds offers an important rethinking of how early globalization inconsistently generated ongoing dynamics of making, unmaking, and remaking worlds."-- Geschichte 1500-1800 gnd rswk-swf Kulturkontakt (DE-588)4033569-0 gnd rswk-swf Globalisierung (DE-588)4557997-0 gnd rswk-swf Civilization, Modern Globalization / History Globalization History (DE-588)1071861417 Konferenzschrift 2018 Los Angeles, Calif. gnd-content (DE-588)1071861417 Konferenzschrift 2019 Los Angeles, Calif. gnd-content Globalisierung (DE-588)4557997-0 s Kulturkontakt (DE-588)4033569-0 s Geschichte 1500-1800 z DE-604 Vanhaelen, Angela 1966- (DE-588)1023902125 edt Wilson, Bronwen 1960- (DE-588)131804057 edt 1487544952 Erscheint auch als Online-Ausgabe, EPUB 978-14875-4495-9 Erscheint auch als Online-Ausgabe, PDF 978-14875-4496-6 The UCLA Clark Memorial Library series 32 (DE-604)BV035269002 32 http://www.gbv.de/dms/bowker/toc/9781487544935.pdf 2023-02-28 Aggregator Inhaltsverzeichnis Digitalisierung UB Regensburg - ADAM Catalogue Enrichment application/pdf http://bvbr.bib-bvb.de:8991/F?func=service&doc_library=BVB01&local_base=BVB01&doc_number=034138270&sequence=000001&line_number=0001&func_code=DB_RECORDS&service_type=MEDIA Inhaltsverzeichnis |
