Summary:In a metaphorical sense, architecture constitutes the pages of the book that is the city. Now, this metaphor presents us with a challenge and a question: How can we "read it"? In the historic city [of Guadalajara, Mexico] are concentrated different architectural periods and expressions that write a text. To be able to read that three-dimensional "book" that is the city, it is convenient to know the "letters", that is, the characteristics of each architectural style that combined, constitute the words, the buildings that, as a whole, would be the pages of the text of each urban settlement. To know, to "read" the city, offers the opportunity to explore it slowly -preferably on foot- looking carefully and paying attention to the details, sometimes subtle that its architecture offers in a journey through time and space, from the past to the present and from the city to the neighborhood.
